Can someone tell me how to go about getting one "charged" so it works? I've heard a dealer can do it, but was curious of the fee?

Thanks,

Hey Karl!

Thanks, but I guess I worded that wrong....I have two EXTRA keyless entries and they are not "programmed", so they don't work...I was wondering how I go about doing this and the fee for it?? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Dona-

I bought an extra key for my minivan (also a Ford) and the owners manual tells how to program the key. I have not looked at the Mustang owner's manual but it's worth checking out. I remember something about turning the key to aux then off for 90 sec. or something like that. Hope this helps.

We just traded our 2000 Eddie Bauer Explorer (V6) for a 2002 4X4 V8 EB Explorer.
I don’t like having a lot of keys to carry around, and really wanted our cars rekeyed to match, but found out that’s next to impossible.
However, we were able to get our remotes synchronized at the dealership. Although I never carried around the remote to the Explorer, (it has keypad) my wife carried the remote for the Bullitt. She fears she may scratch the keyhole area of the door using the key, so she prefers to use a remote. Her key chain, with her office, parents house keys, etc must way around 10lbs. Any way, it’s pretty neat to have both cars on one remote.

One security concern I have to keep in mind is, when I visit her at work or she visits me, when we return to our cars, we have to keep in mind to use the remote to lock the doors back, because of obvious reasons. When she or I return to our car alone, leaving the other persons behind, we unlock not only our door, but the other door as well.
