Man I'd like to do this, driving route 66 is on my bucket list. Problem is I'm heading to Germany this June and I've already made plans to drive the Nurburgring on a track day. Have to save my coins, ring is going to be expensive.

Maybe next year....

FYI for all those who may be interested:

We have the WigWam hotel fully reserved for Legend Lives in Holbrook AZ Tuesday night.

If you would like to reserve a TeePee, one or two bed units are still available, but must be reserved and paid through LL, NOT by contacting WigWam (they will state fully booked). Units are being offered at a premium price of $100, which includes the normal Teepee nightly rate as well as a tax deductable donation to Boys Republic. One and two bed Rooms are still available on a first come first served basis.

So Treva....don't want to spend time in a TeePee in Holbrook??
Nope. Going BY THE BOOK.
The book says "Best Western Arizonian" and that's what I did.

Not easily, I might add. Called, and the lady said ... could I call back in a few minutes to give her time to get back to the "office" ? ... did NOT even wanna know where she was at THAT particular moment !!!

Waited 5 minutes, called back, and she apologized ! Damn, she recognized my voice, or they're just REALLY slow, there in Holbrook!

You people sleeping in a tent ... don't knock on MY door for a SHOWER !!!
Ewwwww !

you know you want to Will!!
When would you EVER have such a golden opportunity to run Route 66 with such a collection of fellow rowdies??
And given the FoSM show is a tribute to Bullitt for 2012, there is a LOT of stuff in the works that is going to make this a truly once in a lifetime Bullitt event!!

Maybe there is a way where participants would be willing to share rooms to help reduce total expenses...always options!!

Yes I want to...I see this as a cross between "The Gumball Rally" and "Animal House"

I gotta sell all the collectibles and old stuff (Tonka trucks/Matchbox Toys/Diecast NASCAR models/WW2 Militaria).

WIGWAM HOTEL INFO:

When you review the hotel registration page for the Legend Lives Tour, there are 2 options for hotels in Holbrook AZ.
A modern unit, as well as a second option to stay at the historic Route 66 iconic Wigwam hotel.

The Wigwam has only 15 Teepee units, and LL has the entire hotel reserved.
If you wish to stay at the Wigwam, you must make reservations and payment through Legend Lives, NOT with the Wigwam.

Rate for the Wigwam is set at $100, which includes the Wigwam rate plus a tax deductable donation to Boys Republic.

Teepees are available with either one Double bed, or two Double beds.

If interested, please contact us directly at [email protected] and state which type teepee you wish to reserve. We will confirm, and provide you details as to how to make payment through us.

We are currently 50% booked. Remaining available units as of today are:

1 two bed Teepee unit
6 one bed Teepee units

So, if interested, please contact us ASAP.
Note, payment does not have to be made at time of reservation with us. So, even if you are thinking about joining the Tour, you can go ahead and pre-reserve a unit if interested and pay later.

Truer and more accurate words have never been spoken!

I was thinking more along the lines of "Cannonball Run"

We may even have a doctor traveling with us. And I think that's Romulan Ale in the syringe.

And "Him" will be working security

you got it Jim!!

Yes, the cozy cone, aka the Wigwam, still exists.
If you know Route 66, much of the movie backdrop in Cars has roots in iconic route 66 locations. Flo's Cafe as example is the Midoint Cafe in Adriane TX...a potential spot for pie.....they have GREAT pie...after lunch at the Big Texan in Amarillo.
If they are open (Memorial day) anyway....
We're talking....
