I have heard less than 10,000 units is
limited production for vehicles. I have
also heard less than 7,500 units.
Replies to confirm or to set me straight
are more than welcome! Curious.

BullittBro1, I am not worried about the
Bullitt, I just want to know what the unit
number is for "limited production"

GEEEZ...I hope it's not less than 5000!
Now I am worried!

Who cares, I love my Bullitt either way!
I am lucky to have one!

I 've often heard the Cobra refered to as a a limited production vehicle, as well as Firehawks. I think whenever a manufacturer says they're only going to produce so many, regardless of demand, that makes it a limited production vehicle.

rancorkeeper...that sounds good to me!
I have read in several pieces of Bullitt
literature that it is a "limited production"
car. I remember when the 10th anniversary
Miata came out. They made 7500 of them and
was touted "limited production". Probably
like you say...what the manufacturer wants
to call it.

The direct quote from Ford Customer service.

"There was a limited production of 5,000 Mustang Bullitt GTs built on the
same line of the Dearborn Assembly Plant that produces the V6, GT and Cobra Mustangs. Each Bullitt came with a unique serialized
identification label from the factory to ensure exclusivity and collectability."

So since my number is 5360 and was told only 5000 were produced I asked a different way, anbd got this response.

"Production numbers are kept within Ford Motor Company and is not made available to
the general public."

Then I read the article by Mr. T. that made some sense on this site that explained this a little..

P.s. I am still pursuing and this with Ford, but if anyone actually knows the total number of production Bullitts it would be very interesting to know.

Hey,

Thanks for the reply.. and the correct link!I also replied back to Ford Customer service and let them know, so the next time some newbie asks this question, and gets that customer rep they can actually give them a straight answer... maybe!

Yes, I agree, after reading some of Mr. T's post I would agreee that he is the MAN...

Hi all, remember I said I would let the Ford customer rep know.. Well here is their reply.. It looks like they are sticking to their guns about only producing 5000..

"Production figures will include the total number of Ford Mustang GT, but
the serial identifier on your vehicle signifies your unit is a Mustang
Bullitt, if you noticed, the serial identifier for your vehicle is five
(5) digits long, which if it were used to denote production number would
mean that up to 99,999 of these vehicles could have been built.

When Ford Motor Company announced that it was rolling out a limited production of 5000 Ford Mustang Bullitt, to retain the prestige and value of the vehicle only 5000 were produced.

Ford Motor Company has and always will continue to live up to it's words, since so much prestige, value and trust and integrity is at stake in providing information to the general public, Ford Motor Company will
continue to provide the facts.

We hope that this information is able to help you understand that the serialized identifier on your vehicle is solely for the purpose of saying your Ford Mustang is a Ford Mustang Bullitt."

So I tend to believe the 4 other verifications through this site.. Do you think they were being a little testy when I questioned the total number? After all, it seems that their prestige is on the line!

My assessment of what is up with that would be any number from 5000 to 6000 could be considered as 5000, so by saying 5000 that would be 5,582 since it is not greater than 6000. So they are telling the truth without actually giving the exact number. They could have been told to do this...
