I live within walking distance from a Mercury dealership, and that dealership is a very short walk to the nearest el (train) station. The closest Ford dealership is about 5 miles away, and totally out of the way compared with work, friends, etc.--not to mention that 5 miles in Chicago is a 30-40 minute drive. I was wondering if anyone knew whether Mercury dealerships could do warranty work on Ford products? I'm wondering this because GM has been saying that Oldsmobile owners can go to any GM dealership to get warranty work done when Olds disappears. It would be nice to drop off #2294 at the Mercury dealership, take the el to & from work, and pick up the Bullitt then...

get this-in Canada all the Lincoln Mercury dealers were forced to become Ford branded dealers-The weird thing is that the Crown Vic can only by purchased by fleets and the Grand Marquis is the only full sized model regular folks can buy-So since all Ford dealers can sell Mustangs its safe to take your car to any Ford dealer.

ANY DEALER HAS THE RIGHT TO DECLINE ANY WORK BE IT CUSTOMER PAY OR WARRNTY. YOUR BEST BET IS TO GO IN AND TALK WITH SERVICE MANAGER AND YOU SHOULDNT HAVE ANY PROBELM
