I had to go to a wedding in Springfield this past weekend so I cruised on down and met my wife there who had taken the train earlier that week. Anyhow the had a nice little cermony at the college in Jacksonville and the reception was held at a hotel in downtown Springfield. Well I had left the ceremony after it had finished and somehow lost the limo (They went back to the brides house and forgot to tell the rest of us). Well I end up in Springfield and am looking for this hotel and I come across an older (late 80's) Blue Camaro RS at a light. Well I pull into the empty lane to his right and a bit ahead of him to see if he'll pull up and be game for a little fun. He stays back and I think.. maybe next time. Well the light goes green and I hear tires breaking loose.. I think.. the little guy's gonna try to sneak me!! Well I nail it and pull him very badly he never even got ahead of me even with his jump. We come up to the next light (Where I have to turn off) and I expect to exchange the usual friendly waves and go our seperate waves.. Well not this time. He pulls up next to me screaming "F**K YOU!!!" at the top of is little 18 year old lungs and flipping me off. Well I was supposed to turn but then thought.. "Am I gonna let him get away with this?" HELL NO! The light goes green and this time.. ready for action I drop it and pull him so badly in less than 2 blocks that I can see him in the rearview in my trailing tiresmoke. I come up to the next red and this little punk blows the light flipping me off and screaming out his window as he flies around me and makes a flying right hand turn around me and into traffic and then gone into the city.
Now this isn't just a kill story but also a small poll.. Almost everyone I've ever raced has been a decent sort and usually good people.. but every now and then you run across someone who needs desperately to be dragged out of their car and publicly flogged and have their cars taken from them. So now.. how do you guys out there deal with this sort? My wife tells me not to encourage them. but then again, she tells me that about every race I get into.

I try (key word here....try)not to even mess with them. It's like the ricer "fly-by" But when it come to yelling at you, well, I admire your restraint. You should have chased him down and broke the little f'ers finger

Another good reason why you should not get a Camaro or even think of trading a Bullitt for a Camaro. In general ( not all cases )but the caliber of people that drive Camaros now a days just isn't that pretty or something you want to be associated with.

What did he expect???? He tried to sneak you and after getting his lunch handed to him he wants to curse you???? Wouldn't sweat it man. I might have given him a hal block or more head start and then REALLY give him something to be pissed about! lol

I would be very pissed at this idiot too, but in defense of chevy people, you can't blame his assholiness on his choice of cars. Just be glad he doesn't drive a ford. I met a fine person in a Trans am the other day and we complemented eachother on our cars. I also raced a Comaro a week ago and we were nose to nose for a good 10 seconds. It was a blast. We pulled into the mall together and both had a good laugh. He said he was 300HP strong. I feel pretty good about staying with him. Granted there are a lot of anal pores out there, but there are some good people too. This guy you ran into might have pissed you off big time, but believe me he'll NEVER get over the spanking your Bullitt gave him!

Your new "friend" was probably used to being top dog in his high school aged crowd. Bet he never ran with the big dogs before in his driving career.

i had just had my bullitt a little while when a new trans am was triing to get me to race.

he guns it and i started to take off when my wife said don't you dare.

i pull up to the next light and he eggs me on again. this time we both hit it at the same time and i walked his a$$. he was very up set.

i guess what made it so bad is that we both had paper tags and bought our cars on the same day and he was dissapointed he picked the wrong car.

although my wife was a little upset with me i had a smile from ear to ear.

Next time some teenage punk wants to have a temper tantrum because he lost, just smile and blow him a big kiss. He'll most likely explode right there in his car. Of course this works a lot better if you're a large, bearded man.

It might be where I live or that others already know not to mess with me (most likely this one), but no one has ever challenged me in my Bullitt or Trans Am Ram Air. Although I do get a lot, and I mean a lot of stares while driving both cars.

That’s also my story. Until I read your From line and saw that you're from GA, I thought you might be my neighbor. It must be the part of Georgia your from. I know around the NW side of Atlanta, Marietta, Kennesaw, etc. I was challenged quite frequently.

Yea, kind of funny how some of these drivers don't know about the Bullitts. I am sure there are a lot of spankings going on thanks to us.

While in Grapevine, Tx last weekend on 114 at a red light a female pulled up next to me in a Tarus SHO. Not knowing it was a SHO until I could see her rearend (car) I took off normally, she floored it and got about 1.5 car lead. Realizing the RACE WAS ON I did the same and caught her pronto. We then went to the next light and were waiting for green again. I looked over at her but she never flinched. When it hit green I let her take a brief lead, not sure she wanted any more, before I completely blew her away.

Guess I can put a SHO notch on the 'ole belt now. What a pump these Bullitts are.... Wheeeeeee.....

My $.02, those guys are the reason why some cops are such &*$# to a little friendly racing. People like that are the ones that cause lots of accidents instead of the friendly little light to light race. Control and maturity should be the rules of the road..but young guys with big egos ruin it for eveyone else. It is really too bad they let guys like that drive anything other than metros. For the several cops on this site..this is not a flame against you..quite the opposite..I completely understand your oath and duty..and I know from my police friends that they had jerk offs like the guy in the camero more than the common decent fans of power.
