Thanks BMarsh !!

Terry,
If you're stopping this afternoon, let me know if the 10W-40 High Mileage is on sale too.

Thanx.
Bro Ron,

I'm pretty sure that is what I am running in mine.

So I will let you know !!!

In my case since I am going to be there (Walmart) anyway I will get some as I am out.
I took all I had to Brenspeed my last visit.
Need to "Restock".

I run Mobil 1 in the Bullitt, the Lexus, and even the Focus. I run 5w30 in the Bullitt, 0w20 in the Lexus, and 5w20 in the Focus. It just seems to make sense since it isn't much more to get Mobil 1 at Walmart. That's a good price for sure!

I thought this was a great deal so I made a trip to Wal Mart. It is a good price but only $2 less than their every day price so if you miss the sale it's not a big deal. Their oil prices are darn cheap overall though. I remember 2 years ago stocking up on Mobil 1 when it was on sale for $4.99 per quart (normally $8). Now that's the regular price at Wal Mart.

Terry, that makes complete sense. My understanding is that when the car has very tight clearances such as the factory engines do, the oil viscosity must be thin so as not to create too much friction. When building a more race type engine, there are usually a bit looser clearances and hence a thicker oil to allow more "float" inside those connections. When I built my 427 many years ago, the clearances were quite loose (Ford's recommendations) and the engine made a bit of noise at idle. The suggested oil was 20-50.

Bob,

I can recall many-many guys back in the 60's & 70's running 20-50 oil.

I'll also mention this to you on why I run what BRENSPEED says.
(I figure if the engine went out & I had switched Oil-Weight) :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown:

So I run what they run and what that sticker says on my Oil Cap they installed with the New Saleen Spec BRENSPEED built B302 engine.

Pennzoil Ultra is a great oil and, based on lab testing, better than "regular" Mobil 1. Unfortunately, I cannot get it in my area so I use Mobil 1 Extended Performance.

For an extra $2 per jug at walmart, you can get Mobil 1 Extended Performance. It is a group iv base stock (true synthetic) vs group iii as per the "regular" Mobil 1 and provides better protection. I still change at regular intervals (don't drink the 15k per change koolaid) but for a couple more $$$, it is a better and true synthetic.

Walmart has had the best pricing so far.
They also run Specials sometimes.
On like the 5-Quart Containers.

Terry
I watched the documentary, "the high cost of low prices".. haven't shopped there since. Plus I don't feel like a customer, I feel like I'm in the way at wal-mart here. Ours is 24/7 so your always dodging pallet jacks or lp powered floor scrubbers. No wally world here.

Another reason I don't shop at wal-mart: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFY0KU2DNAQ
