I watched the documentary, "the high cost of low prices".. haven't shopped there since. Plus I don't feel like a customer, I feel like I'm in the way at wal-mart here. Ours is 24/7 so your always dodging pallet jacks or lp powered floor scrubbers. No wally world here.

Another reason I don't shop at wal-mart: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFY0KU2DNAQ
OK .............

So short of sending a friend in with some cash, what is the next cheapest we've found mobil1?
Just something you might wish to take into consideration.

Gas here is not all the cheap per gallon.

And most Bullitt Mustangs don't get huge MPG.

To me a person is going to waste Time, Money & Energy chasing something that actually is not all that much savings from one place to the other.

Just pick the place closest to you and grab some oil.

I'm not trying to post clever, cute comments I'm simply saying oil is not all that expensive.

Chasing pricing on it if you have to drive to get it might prove to actually be No-Savings in the end.

My 2008 Bullitt will be coming out of winter hibernation soon. I'm thinking of running Mobil 1. I see from a few posts that 5W-30 seems to be the recommended choice, but what about the oil filter? Is the filter for the Bullitt any different from a standard Mustang GT? I plan on looking up the car year and selecting the Mobil 1 filter.

Actually, the stock oil filter is pretty good. Purolater is also good brand of filter. I'd suggest avoiding Fram. I used to have a link to a site where filters were cut open and analyzed...since reading it, well, either motocraft or purolater. Mobil 1, royal purple, and other oils have their own branded filters...but really, these are made by regular filter makers, just branded...

Hi Mark,

I have the Brenspeed B-302 engine in mine and use the following combination of products.

I've used these for years now and the Bullitt has like 55,000 miles on it.

For an extra $2 per jug at walmart, you can get Mobil 1 Extended Performance. It is a group iv base stock (true synthetic) vs group iii as per the "regular" Mobil 1 and provides better protection. I still change at regular intervals (don't drink the 15k per change koolaid) but for a couple more $$$, it is a better and true synthetic.
Working in the fuel and lubricant industry it never ceases to amaze me how much men love to talk about motor oil. It is comparable to women discussing shoes. I typically avoid the subject like the plague because like politics and religion you will rarely convince someone of your point of view. However, the statement that proudgeek made back in 2013 deserves some recognition. Not many guys on the street talk about base stock grades. While I am prevented from discussing brands IMHO there is sound advice being given here.

Thanks Josh, good to know. Just changed the oil in my daughters Ranger this weekend using Mobil 1 Extended Performance. Mostly because she has a habit of pushing her oil changes far beyond what she should. I think this time is was almost 10,000 miles since her last one using Motorcraft Sync Blend.

Since the truck now has approx. 285,000 miles and she has the habit of pushing things, I though I would try to use as good a oil as I could for normal driving over a long period. Hopefully she can get another 100k out of her truck. Afterall Ford no longer sells these truck so when it dies, the replacement most likely will not be a FORD.
