I spock to Rob at fordspeed.com today he is the tech doing the work on my Bullitt.
All the parts are installed he had it on the dyno today the A/F was not right he is calling super chip tomorrow for a reburn. The Bullitt dynoed 380rwhp with the A/F not being right, so it looks like there is more HP he can get out of it.

My question is, Rob recommended going with different injectors (42lbs?) and replacing the fuel pump and a different meter. What do you guy's with super chargers think?Any recommendations?
Rob and fordspeed.com is very knowledgeable I would just like to here from some of you guy's that have S/C Bullitt. Thanks

Hey Ray,

Your stock fuel system can only support a certain power level which I'm sure is being exceeded if in present tune your car is making 380 RWHP. You will definitely need to go with larger injectors and MAF and possibly even a different fuel pump. So what Rob at Fordspeed is telling you is absolutely correct. There is another way to handle your situation send me an e-mail and I'll see if I can get permission to pass on the particulars to you.

Hmmm, never had my A/F mix checked since I had the supercharger installed. I was going to install a A/F gauge but heard they are junk. How did they check yours?

They checked the A/F on the dyno,I do have a A/F gauge on the car hope it works OK.

I understand perfect A/F ration is 14.7 at cruise.

Somewhere around 12.6,7,8 at max power.

What was your A/F on the dyno?

I'm confused, your Vortech kit should come with 38# injectors and a 255lph pump. That should be plenty to support that level of power. Is Fordspeed suggesting more injector and pump than that?

Your A/F ought to be around 12 to be safe, any higher on a charged car is asking for it.

I second this!!!

Fordspeed's recommendation is a good one. It will prevent you from going lean and going Kaboom. It looks like they are also building in a little wiggle room in case you want to go with a smaller pulley which you will eventually do because everybody does.

Tim, Do you have your A/F mix checked on the dyno or do you have a gauge in your car? If so how does it work and who makes it?

I had mine checked on the tailpipe sniffer on the dyno. There are in-car models that do work well, they are wide band and rely on their own O2 sensors to measure A/F. I would be curious to see how one that tapped into a factory O2 compared to a tailpipe sniffer(cats aside).

For reference, my Autometer FP guage was off by up to 5psi over the factory sensors read on an Autotap. Who do you trust???

My Autometer unit has always acted a little sketchy, it bounces / fluctuates +/- 5pds. It is one of the new model in car full sweep Autometer fuel pressure gauges that have the black box on the interior. So I trust about anything other than that. I might try a A/F mix gauge but they don't look like they are that easy to read, and they certainly can't give you exact ratios.

I had a full sweep electric FP guage(the one with the black box) in my 99 and is seemed more responsive than the one I have now. I have a partial sweep electric(only has a sending unit and the guage) and I do not have a lot of confidence in it right now. It's about as good as an idiot light right now, due to it's accuracy. I may switch to a full sweep before too long. Or maybe just an warning light???

I just made an appt. for Thursday at 10 to make a dyno pull, and check the A/F mix. Better safe than sorry. When I pulled the old plugs out though before changing over to the Densos, they were pretty dark so if anything I'm was running a little rich, which is better than the flip side.

We use the A/F gauge that came with our Dyno-Jet chassis dyno. It was reading fine, around 11.7 untill it got to 4600. Then it started it's climb upward to 13.6 at 5700 where we lifted. We didn't want to spin it up any farther untill we got the fuel situation straightened out. Don't want Ray to have to put new pistons in his Bullitt too early, you know. Waiting on our boy over at Superchip to get a new program done right now. As soon as he gets back to me, we'll download the new program, and get a few more pulls in on the dyno. Still plenty of room left to make some more power. I'll try and keep you posted.
