I think the Mach 1,with it's reported 300 HP 32v engine, will be the better deal for the money. I just prefer the N/A engine setups, plus it will be a cool retro of the 1970 version. I guess it will only be a tic faster than the Bullitt, depending on the driver.

Hmmmmmmm, all this factory bottom end beefing of the new Cobra engine....What does this tell you about the durability of the hundreds of older Cobras running around with superchargers? I wouldn't buy a used one with a supercharger!!! The 03' does sound like Ford is getting with it,as far as building a decent engine to make power with. Reminds me of the old SCJ option, with all the bottom end goodies!!!

Mus408,

One of the reasons I wouldn't buy an older Cobra with a supercharger either is the fact that older Cobra's have an aluminum motor which really when combined with a supercharger impacts the durability. The new 03 Cobra uses the cast motor 4.6 (like our Bullitt's have) which should really be able to handle a supercharger (things like pistons, rings, etc.. may need changed but the actual cast motor should handle a supercharger). This month's MotorTrend really touches on this issue.

The 03 Cobra hood looks like what should have been on the 01 Bullitt, looks closer to the 68 Mustang. Plus would have been nice to get the motor as well.
