Check out these gains across the RPM range. Peak RWHP and RWTQ go up by about 11 and there are gains of 13-14 at certain parts of the curve.

Just a shot in the dark here, but do you gain anything by selling these? No offense intended, just curious.

Yes. Did you check out the stock 2001 GT dyno sheet? That car, which I think just rolled off of the truck from Ford (and as a result had almost no miles on it), picked up about 11rwhp/rwtq peak with up to 14 gains throughout the RPM band. My Bullitt with the mods listed in my sig picked up 11.7rwhp/16.0rwtq.

You can set it back to factory very easily OR you can get the PLUS version and have two separate tunes stored that you can flip between with a simple toggle switch (included with the PLUS+ kit). The Plus also has a built in programmable window switch (no pills required) that can directly drive a relay to activate nitrous solenoids.

Hope this helps!

If you mean do I make money on this product I have to say that, after I pay back the loan I took to develop this product ($25K), I will make money on each unit sold. It won't be a lot but it will in theory be profit so YES. No offense taken. To be honest, the real reason I developed this product was because my Bullitt was running rich with all of my mods and I knew that there was some HP to be gained by leaning it out. I couldn't buy what I needed off the shelf so I decided to build it for myself. It turned out so good that I thought I would offer it to others that wanted to do the same things. However, I've gotten a real rude awakening. Rather than have people be excited about this product like I am what I mostly get are naysayers that shoot it down both conceptually or sometimes without any real basis on the notion that I'm trying to peddle "snake oil" like many others have in the past. I'm starting to wonder if I should develop the "go fast" parts that I want and not waste my time and MONEY trying to make them available to others. What do you guys think? (by the way I'm referring to the response that I've received over on Corral.net and Stangnet.com, not here on Bullitclub).

I looked at the chart, is there a way we could see the A/F graph associated with that car.

When is the expected ship dates on these puppies? And are you looking for more sales outlets...www.speedworx.com is interested.

Hey Tim,

I currently have an exclusive distributorship with SHM and if you are interested in selling the product, please contact Sean for more information. I know that he is looking into various distribution channels.

With regards to the delivery, I actually have the first 4 MAFterburner PLUS+ production units sitting on my desk. SHM will have 100 in stock and ready for delivery by April 10th.

As far as the A/F, drop an email to SHM and ask them for the information. I will be doing the same (via phone) because I'm curious what the A/F change was and why the initial runs were so low. BUT......the product works exactly as designed. You can precisely change the A/F ratio in a very intuitive manner.

Take care,

Dude, you seem to have a good product and an excelent engineering mind. If you can turn your ideas into products that get dyno results, if you make them, they will come. Screw the naysayers, just point to the printouts. If you're lucky enough to be able to turn a hobby you love into a money making venture, you da man . Don't give up.

Thanks a lot Chris! I needed that. I guess that I'm letting the naysayers get the best of me. Don't get me wrong, whenever someone points out a flaw in my concepts or implementation, I get to work analyzing it and determining how to fix the alleged problem. I guess I'm just amazed at those who just cut the product down without any real knowledgable basis or analysis.

Thanks again,

Mark Chiappetta

Mark! I have absolutely no idea what it is that you are doing but anyone with your abilities should never be deterred by naysayers. If Edison listened to his detractors we 'd be E-mailing each other by candlelight! Remember, "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach" Be a leader, not a follower. I am so impressed by the intelligence and mechanical aptitude of the "brains" on this website that I feel I not only bought a great car but an education as well! For all you guys that know what the hell you're talking about - KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! There's a lot of us dummies out here that are getting less dumb every day. Thanks! Cheers! Tony

hey mark,

where exactly does this unit go? is it like a Chip like the Diablo that hooks up to the brain, or does it go somehere under the hood near the mass air meter? this sounds interesting, and would this work with the mods i already have? (see sig)

thanx,

Mark,

I don't care if you do shamelessly plug your product. You answer everyone’s questions and give great detail concerning your product. Beyond that you have taken some constructive criticism in the past with great stride. I wish more designers/manufactures would represent their respective products as well!

BTW the NOS integration is a great idea.. you might even have me sold.

Best Regards

Thank you Tony! I'm one of the dummies too! I've been learning about cars my entire life starting with my father as a child and much more recently from some really knowledgeable people who own, operate, and turn wrenches on modular Mustangs. "He who stops learning is dead."

Hey Pino, How u doin? The MAFterburner is designed to reside under the dashboard or under the kick panel (with the PCM) on the passenger side of the car. In answer to your question, YES it would work with the mods that you already have. If you have a good chip tune (not just the cookie-cutter Diablo) AND don't plan on modding much more, then the MAFterburner will probably be of limited utility to you at this time. BUT it would allow you to further optimize your a/f ratios the way YOU want them and would allow your tuning to grow with any future mods that you have planned. If I can be of any further assistance feel free to contact me. Please note that the FAQ can be read at:

Take care,

Mark Chiappetta

Thanks for the kind words BR. The MAFterburner PLUS+ (for nitrous users OR those that want to have multiple tunes resident) is a product that has me very excited! It is currently scheduled for testing and I am chomping at the bit to get some results. I have had one on my car since January and just need to get a nitrous kit so that I can do some follow on product testing....

Anyway, take care.

I have been watching this product and have yet to buy any mod for my Bullitt. It is one I am considering in my plan of mods. ( After I make sure the tranny doesn't need a second go through) It looks like a worth wild mod to me and once people get it on it will probably be like the denscharger, everyone wants one. Thanks for the effort

Hi marty,

If you, or anyone else for that matter, don't understand something I'm saying then chances are I'm doing a lousy job communicating with y'all. If you have any specific questions, please ask away and I will try to do a better job answering them here. I have to say that I'm really impressed by the quality of person here at Bullittclub.com. You guys are great and I'm proud to be one of you.

Sincerely,

i don't think it's you doing a poor job of communicating as much as it is my complete lack of technical skills when it come to Auto Shop 101 or Engine Management Systems 101
i hope no one laughs, but would you be interested in trying to start from scratch and explain in "layman's terms" what your product does from the very start to finished install? what it's changing/affecting in the mgmt/computer system and how it works?
does that make sense?
you might want to start a new thread all over again as soon as you are "ready" for the market.
i know many of you Bullittheads are VERY saavy when it comes to engines BUT i'm sure that there are also many like me that have never done much more that change oil, plugs, filters, and shifters!!!
also, who would install your product for those of us who are technically challenged?

thanks Mark!!
