Hello all - this is my first post!

Do any of you have any experience with the MSD Dashhawk? It's an OBD/CAN scan tool, basically.

I was thinking of hooking one up, and maybe even "semi-permanently" mounting one with a Pro-Clip mount.

Any feedback?

Thanks!

Check your state laws on that. Mounting to the windshield is illegal in Michigan as far as I know.
May be illegal, but definitely not enforced... just take a look around, just about every car i see on the road has a GPS, satellite radio or radar detector stuck right in the middle of the windshield... much more obstructive than the dashhawk tuck off in the corner...

Thanks for the nice writeup, scrming. I like the ability to set parameters/alerts, and the valet feature. I'm figuring out where I want to mount one, then I'll probably pull the trigger.

Suction cups on windshields are illegal in California, too...but I'm in sales and use a GPS on my company car all the time, and I've never been hassled. I also use an Escort Solo 2 on my Mustang's windshield (and former cars), and never had a problem - although, I keep it all the way at the top, and it's cordless, so it's hard to see.

California passed/will pass a law allowing GPSs to be mounted on windshields. No problem.

I don't like to give cops reasons to pull me over. Then again, I don't own a GPS unit or a radar detector so I've got nothing to put there anyway.
