Hi, I'm new in the forum. I've got Bullitt #5573, and was wondering if anyone has rear mud flaps or that plastic protective coat on their Bullitt? I was just wondering if they are necessary and how well they work.

Some members use Clear Static. If you search the WEB site you may be able to find some of the old posts on this.

Hope this helps.

A FRIEND OF MINE HAS A 01 GT AND A HALF MILE DIRT DRIVEWAY. HE PUT FORD REAR MUD FLAPS ON HIS. IT DOESN'T LOOK TO BAD. IF I HAD ANY DIRT OR GRAVEL TO DRIVE ON I WOULD HAVE THEM. I HAVE THE PART # IF YOU NEED IT. THEY ARE ABOUT $40.00
BTW WHY DO WE "PARK" ON DRIVEWAYS AND "DRIVE" ON PARKWAYS?

Welcome to the board.....a few guys on here have the Mustang specific mud flaps on the rear. They match the front stock flaps pretty well they say. I have used the clearstatic protective film on the lower rear fender with success. I have seen more chip damage just forward of the rear tire on the lower skirt so I'm looking for something to stop that.

That's the area I was talking about Karl, I just noticed yesterday that it had small chips all over it. That would be a perfect area for Clearstatic to make a piece, and it shouldn't be a problem to make. Basically just a small rectangle would work. I thought about just getting an extra set of lower rear quarter protectors and making some myself.

Welcome to the club 01Bullitt70Mach1!

I have Groboski guards front and rear.
I used the existing Bullitt screws and holes
for mounting. Drilled custom holes in the
guards to match existing Bullitt holes.
Used velcro for top mount for the fronts.
Works great. Got the guards at Walmart and
have seen them at auto parts stores too.
The guards are flat black with no logos
and are made of Duraflex plastic. They are
not molded but simply flat and sheet-like.
Cheap too...$6 a pair!
BTW...part number is#10070

Hi Karl!
If you put the Cleartastic on with a solution
under it and squeegee the bubbles out...no
problem. I use Griot's Garage positioning
spray as the solution. Yes, Cleartastic does
not have adhesive.

I have not had any Cleartastic blow off yet.
I have been up to about 100 at the strip...
no problem.

BTW, I sent you some Bullitthead pictures
yesterday via snail mail.

I have the Ford rear splash guards and they look great. Low profile, molded black plastic and can be attached using the single existing screw. If you have wheel spacers, I highly recommend the splash guards.

We will definitely have a kit to protect in Front of the Rear Wheels very soon!
We have that area on the list of kits we are going to create.
I have spoke with a member from this forum and he is being kind enough to let us use his Bullitt to get measurements to create the templates. His car is in storage but is coming out in about a month.
Trust me, We are throwing everything at the Mustangs & Bullitts this year!
We are going to come up with some goodies for you guys.

Feel free to email, fax or call us if you ever have any questions.

I bought the ford "Mustang" mud flaps about $33 from my local dealer, Took about 15mins in install, (air tools big garage and jack) removal rear wheels use existing screw in bumper cover and "drill" one hole per side for another screw (included in mud flaps) Their molded and blend in well with a DHG Bullitt but still get alot of "dirt" and dust on rear deck and bumper cover after this.

Big "E"

Yeah, I do get dust on the rear as well but think this is due to aerodynamics. I don't think we can avoid this one...unless we don't drive it. NOT! (not driving the Bullitt=not having fun)

Thanks everyone for the help! I think I'm gonna try the cleartastic, just because I don't want to be drilling holes for mud guards.
