Went out to do an errand today. Sun came out so I decided to take "Old Jack" that's what I call my Bullitt,in honor of my father. He's 92 and laid up in bed 24/7 so he can't go for a ride in the Bullitt. I'm coming up to a red light and a guy in a brand new Ford F-150 is sitting in the left lane. I'm waiting for the light to change and the guy in the truck starts to rev his engine. I look over to see if it's a Lightning or some other form of unbridled horsepower, because I really didn't take much notice of him when I first pulled up. No,itlooks like a plain ole F-150 in Dark Green Metallic. So I said what the hell I could use some excitement today. The light changes and he floors it. Aha the fun begins says I. He has a small lead on me so I rev 1st gear to 5500,then hit 2nd gear.By the time I rev out 2nd I'm about 1 car lengths ahead of him, but he still wants more. He's still coming up fast. When I finished third gear I needed a telescope to see him in the rear view mirror. I started to run out of road so I slowed down to a more respectable speed. I wish it had been more of a challenge, but you have to take what the Racing Gods give you I guess, even if its some Jersey Wacko, who watches too much Speedvision, in a F-150 pickup. Another good Bullitt KILL. Just don't understand why some people think they an get past the Bullitt. Maybe next time he/she will pay attention to the type of "GT" he/she is are racing.

I, for one, don't see anything wrong with trying to race a car you know is faster than yours.

I used to drive a '86 Escort 4dr Hatchback, but I'd pull up next to camaros, ricers, anything a rev my monster of a 1.9L!!! :!

Some people just want to see what our lovely cars can do

I am always ready to run, no matter if its a pinto, a camaro or a viper.

Have'nt really had what you would call a "race" yet. The closest thing I've had was four kids in a GT convertible playing leap-frog on the hwy. The kid had a good sounding exhuaust and would pull beside and rev and then slow down so I could do the same. They were all having a good time.

Seems as though the import guys around here know better. I don't get any challenges.

I enjoy getting revved at by everybody and their mom. Shows that people recognize the cars ability, or want to test it. Either way it gets acknowledged. My kills include everything from a Subaru WRX to a Suburban if you can beleive it!
