4800 miles now,4th oil change time period coming up......thinking of going with the 5W-30 Mobile 1. I just wonder if Ford will stick with the 5W-20 on the 03 Cobras?

I just changed my oil for the second time. The first time I put Mobil 1 5W-30 in it. This time I put Valvoline Synthetic 5W-30. I would have put Mobil 1 back in it, but the oil change place didn't carry it. (I live in an apt or I would do it myself.) I do however recommend using the K&N oil filter. I used it both times. Part number is HP-2010.

Great filter!

Tell ya what Mus, you do it and I'll do it too :grin: I have been waiting and waiting, because of the whole 5-20 vs. 5-30 thing. I have 20 quarts of 5-30 Mobil 1 begging to be used.

I too am dying to go Synthetic. Ready for change 2 @ 3300. I think next change will be the big SYN. Maybe 5000. Nice round number.

It's a done deal 01GTB! Put it in this morning,took a nice drive,the crank didn't fall out,so it must be OK! But really,it's the 5 that identifies how heavy or thick the viscosity is at cold start up. I think it's fine. I use the Mobil 1 10W30 in my 85 LX,with the KN oil filter.

I've been running Mobil 1 5W-30 since 886 miles. I'm now over 8000 and working on the 2nd oil change. At 5003 with nearly 4200 miles, the oil was still clean. I would think the 5000 mile interval in the manual is correct expecially with synthetic.

I just switched 1st oild change to Mobil 1 5-30 and I highly reccommend the GM syncromesh tranny fluid change. No more shifting problem 1-2 and the other shifts are silky smooth.

Hey Monster, it's nice to see another guy who can keep up with me on oil changes. I'm on my 3rd with 2 grand on the clock. When it turns warm, I'm going with the Mobil 1 5w30 as Sean Hyland Motorsports recomended. Just grabbed some today at WallyWorld!
