I put my dealer brochure card and my window sticker in a picture frame and hung it on the wall in my living room.

When my wife saw it she told me I was crazy and obsessed with my car. Anyone else's wife see it that way?

We have a spare bedroom I use for an office. This is the only place I get to hang up photo's of my car fetish. My wife definitely thinks I'm crazy. To date I have a collage of my trip to the 30th Anniversary at Charlotte Speedway, an old ad for the '66 Hetrz "rent a racer", my '90 GT convertible, '95 GT convertible and soon to be added the poster I received from Ford of the Movie "BULLITT" and the mounted 35 mm film piece from the same movie.I also will have some photos of the Bullitt going up soon. I'm running out of wall space.

My daughter moved out, two weeks later we had the room painted with a black and white checkered border, and it was ready to become the "Mustang Room".
Yes, my husband thinks I'm crazy, but I've managed to contaminate his thinking, so that all he thinks about is Mustangs too.
I'm fortunate, cuz I don't have to worry about that darn "wife" thing. It was more of a natural fit for my husband to share my obsession.
Now the people at work???? They just think I'm crazy. Period. I have a lot of Mustang stuff in my office.

Just accept the obsession, it saves money in therapy just admitting it!!!

You have the "hot car disease." Once you got it, it will never go away. There is no known cure either. Only remedy is to just enjoy it.

Just tell the wife there are a lot worse obsessions out there for us than hot cars. IMHO our disease is pretty darn healthy and normal.

My wife says "It must be a guy thing" and excepts it. I don't think you're nuts at all. I have a shadow box on my wall with the 5.0 badge, and Mustang LX badge from my dearly departed (totaled in a wreck 1986 LX) Mustang. The shadow box also contains pictures and the little FORD oval from the steering wheel. Sure she thinks I'm nuts, maybe I am, but I sure think you're OK. (Maybe we're both insane.) No. Just a Guy thing.

Well, my wife said "What an ape swinger", when I brought my 68 Fastback home. I promised to keep it for one year only to get her in the car for a test drive.
Now, that was ten years ago... and she has not entered the car more than a double dozen times. That's o.k. Steve had Jaqueline not with him either, did he?
Guess, she thought, he was crazy. So, what is different back then and now?

Hubby is pretty accepting of my new obsession. Other people seem surprised by it but no one has hassled me yet. My kids like to tease me (especially when I detail my car) but they love the Bullitt too. Now hubby actually wants to try auto-x with me this spring. We went to a trade show Sunday in Milwaukee and got acquainted with 2 different sports car club groups in our area. He's not the "type A" like I am so I don't know if he'll stick with racing but I'm glad he's willing to give it a try.
