Just came back from the performance shop.
The following were bolt on suggestions from the tech behind the counter.
1. Mac cold air induction
2. Mac pulleys
3. Richmond 3.73 gears
4. MSD ignition box
He claims these would "wake" up the motor.
Total cost for everything including installation would be $ 1,400.00

1. Cold air might give you a little something but don't expect to feel the difference. (3-5 rwhp at most.)

2. Pulleys should give a couple to few horsepower in the higher rpms. (Remember we already have a couple of underdrive pulleys stock.)

3. Get FRPP gears. They are good quality and you won't get noise like you will with some other gear sets. (Gears will give the biggest seat of the pants gain out of all of these mods)

4. Don't waste your money. The stock coil on plug ignition is plenty for our cars.

I'd say the cold air induction and the gears are worth getting into but, not with this guy. As stated above; get your 3.73's from Ford Racing for $185.00 and try looking at the Denscharger System for under $200. The rest would probably be a waste of money, or at least at the $$$ this guy is trying to sell you stuff for.

i got my 373 gears from gefracing at $149.. totally worth it...

i have the MAC CAI... sounds very nice on cold mornings and days (you can hear the whistle of cold air goin in)

i say go with a custom burned chip (with all ur mods updated), since u need to recalibrate ur speedo...

as far as MSD is concerned... MSD doesnt have a system out yet for the Coil-Over-Plug system like ours... another brand has it, tho... buts its not really worth it right now, unless your supercharged or blown, etc IMHO...

if you go with pullies... go with Steeda Underdrive Pullies...

so having said all this:

1-Ford Racing 3.73 gears
2-Custom Burned Chip
3-Steeda Pullies
4-Densecharger or some CAI
5-BASSANI X-PIPE

Way too much money for very little power gains! Get the Steeda Pulley set and a timing adjuster. I know you can get these two for $310 to $375 at any time. If you can't install them yourself, $125 should be more than enough to cover the install.

You can get the 3.73 FRPP gear set for $149 + shipping anytime from gefracing.com. Install should run you in the $200 neighborhood. With gears you are gonna need some sort of speedo correction. A speedcal from dallas mustangs is $100. If you want a chip, they can correct the speedo with that as well and forget the speedcal.

I can't comment on the CAI system. But people speak highly of the Densecharger. You can do that one yourself.

Forget the MSD.

Just spoke to J&P Mustang specialists in Toronto. He pretty much echoed what everyone has been saying. 3.73's, custom burned chip, and cat back H pipe. CAI looks great but will only give me one or two hp over the K&N already there.
Soooooo...... I think that settles it.
3.73's, chip and H pipe.
Thanks again for the feedback
Paul.
