SWEET CHRISTMAS. I want this pretty bad... Does anyone know about what a paint place charges to paint it?
Beautiful hood and the price is definitely reasonable. Just to confirm, these hoods are shipped unpainted?

Or is there an option to have them pre-painted?
WOW...super sexy, but bad timing w/holiday's & HOA fees due. >.<

Question ???

Does any 2008/2009 Bullitt Owner have one of these on their Bullitt Mustang ???

If so do you have any pictures of it installed and how did it actually fit ???

Were you completely "Satisfied" with it's {Quality} ???

Did the installing Body-Shop have to do a Great Deal of Pre Prep-Work for it to Fit Properly ???

Thanks,
Terry

Most of our customers report $400-$600 for painting top & bottom. ($600 included custom ghost flames top & bottom for one owner). We start with a factory hood so they fit just like your stock hood does. We also use premium resins that don't shrink or wave so prep time for paint is typically less than an hour. This saves you a bunch at the body shop!

Yes, we ship them unpainted. The risks of scratches, chips or color mis-match are just too high. If the color matched perfectly but there is just one scratch, I personally wouldn't be happy - and it's probably safe to say that you most likely wouldn't be either. So we have found that it is best to have your new hood painted at your local body shop. That way they can match your paint exactly and the risk of shipping damage drops to about zero. Great question.

I have the hood on my car. Several of the pictures at the top of the page are of my car in Bowling Green at the NMRA event. I also had the car at the Mustang Memories show in Dearborn. Tony from the club took several pictures of it and he has posted some I think. The hood fit perfect from the start, nothing to do but bolt it on. It cost me $600 for the paint including the ghost flames. I can tell you with complete confidence that you will not be disappointed with this hood.

Ron,

Are you actually (Referring) to the Hood that was 1st produced or this New hood on this Thread ???

Thanks,
Terry
This is the new hood.
Ron,

If I am following you the pictures in Post Number 1 are actually your Bullitt Mustang, correct ???

Like this picture I am posting below from Post #1 above ???

If it is your Bullitt Mustang it looks "Awesome" buddy.

I appreciate the information.
I'm simply making sure that I am following you and what I am seeing is actually your Bullitt with this New Hood we are discussing on this Thread.
I have found over the years if a person is not sure about something be smart enough to keep asking questions until you are sure.

Thanks again,
Terry

Ron,

If the below is to much trouble and you simply don't won't to mess with taking more pictures No-Worries man.

You can send them to my E-Mail Address as attachments if you like.

Would you mind taking some New Pictures of your Bullitt so I can see how it has held up paint wise.
Maybe Both Sides of it and also from looking down at it from the Windshield.
And a few pictures of it underneath in a raised position.
Also can you talk about how the (Windshield Washers) work and was it easy to install them for this New Hood ???

Yes, that is his car with this current version of the hood. As mentioned, there are a couple of photos I posted of it from when I saw it in Dearborn, MI, at the Mustang Memories show this past August. It looks and fits great.

Is there any difference between the "MRT 68 hood "and the "Boss Bullitt Hood" ? I was once interested in the MRT 68 hood but after seeing it in person it didn't look right to me.

Hi Terry,

Ron has been a customer of ours for many years. He bought the 68 Style Reload hood for his Bullitt back when we designed them for MRT. Every time he would see us at a show, he always stopped by to say hello and has since become a friend. One of the great things about Ron (Besides just being a great guy) is his passion for the Bullitt Mustang. If it's available for the Bullitt, he probably has it!

Ron was the first customer to give us feedback on the clearance issue with the strut tower brace slightly rubbing the underside of his old MRT hood. When sitting still, there was plenty of clearance. However, when driving down the road in a real-world situation, there was some dynamic movement that raised its ugly head and caused interference - and left unwanted rub marks on the underside of his hood. When we decided to launch the new Boss Bullitt hood, Ron was there to help. He provided exact measurements of where the strut tower brace was rubbing and we added a full inch of additional clearance into the new design. Now it is impossible for it to rub. He also confirmed that the early design suffered from quite a bit of movement at high speeds and that it could be a bit unnerving at times. This prompted us to implement what we learned from working with Ford on the 2011 Steeda Q450 hood. The technology we used there made that heat extractor design solid and stable to over 150+ mph, so we implemented that technology into the new Boss Bullitt hood as well. It was Ron's Bullitt that was featured in the 90 mph stability test. That test confirmed that the technology we designed into the new hood dramatically improved high speed stability.

We really appreciate feedback from our customers and in this case we were able to take Ron's input and make a better product for each of you. In return for his efforts, we gave him a heck of a deal and he got the very first Boss Bullitt hood in the world (that he helped to design!) So if you have any questions about the improvements in our new hood, I'm sure Ron would be glad to give you an honest answer. He's just that kind of guy... plus he has owned both hoods!

Here are some pics of Ron's Bullitt at the NMRA finals and a few from when we tested the very first new hood. I picked out the ones that most closely match what you were asking to see.

-Oh, and the washer nozzles are really easy to install. Just take the nozzles off of your old hood and plug them into the hoses in the pod on the underside of the new hood. Press them in upside down until they click, then connect your factory washer hose to the hose in the hood (It's all internally plumbed) That's all there is to it!

Hope this helps to answer some of your questions.

Thanks,

Todd

The new Boss Bullitt hood has increased strut tower brace clearance, improved high speed stability and the "Boss Bullitt" logo underneath. We also deleted the turn signal indicators as they cannot be seen from the drivers position. Its styling is a modern interpretation of the 1968 GT hood.

Boss Hoods made the original hood for MRT. this is the new improved sversion. I have met the owner in Bradenton and have one of his hoods on my Cobra which bolted right on without issue. In fact, we ordered two at the time, one for me and one for Hungary00 on here who has basically the same car as I do. I get compliments all the time on the hood.

The 68 style hood has been around for awhile and there are numerous posts on here with the original MRT hood as well as this new version.

Quality products from this company. If you like it, get it.
