Vicki, and that's only one story of many...a sadness felt by many.

War combat vets feel pretty much the same thing...jim described it..survivors guilt.
Oh, I don't know. I went over to 'Nam and saw blood, gore, guts and veins in my teeth. And so far, it doesn't bother me, bother me, bother me, bother me, bother me, bother me, bother me, bother me, bother me, bother me, bother me, bother me , bother me, bother me, bother me, bother me, bother me, bother me, bother me...

Yeah..never a thought of "why did I survive when my buddies didn't?" Right....

The T shirt oracle is right: "S**t happens."

Guess that's as good an explanation as anything, despite it not being enough.

Here's a demonstration flight of two of the most iconic fighters of World War II. The British Spitfire and the German Focke-Wulf 190. Engine buffs will love the rumble and belch of the Focke-Wulf's 14-cylinder radial engine! Enjoy yet another...

I would be remiss to not include my favorite fighter of the whole entire war. Here's the "too little, too late" Messerschmitt Me-262 Schwalbe!

BROWNS BOUNCE BACK!

Sleeve Motor vehicle Font Emblem Symbol

In an afternoon of twists and turns, the Cleveland Browns finally did what needed done in crunch time and beat the Texans, 31-21! Baker Mayfield again showed how much of a gamer his is, giving his body up by attempting a tackle on the guy who had intercepted his errant pass. He also had the entire City of Cleveland holding its breath. But, he shook it off and was back on the Browns' next possession. Great game, great win --- GO BROWNS! (In other news, the Tennessee Titans eeked one out against the Seahawks in overtime, winning 33-30! Way to go, Farmer Don!).

Here's the Browns' game highlights... (click to see it on YouTube)...

Well, that was worth a look. Something to be said for Pool Championships. Heck, Cleveland still doesn't have "kuties with pom poms." Baker Mayfield dancing in the end zone is as close as we get. (Wonder how much they fined that guy for dancing on top of the pool table?)... :ROFLMAO:

Somebody is probably asking a bundle for one of those decoder badges today.

I guess Baker could always become a male stripper if the football thing doesn't work out?
Black guy in background, arms folded, must be thinking; "You know, white folks really shouldn't try to dance."

No penalty for the pool table dance...it's kind of become a tradition at the end of major tournaments.
A line in color of money was Newman saying to Cruise: "The balls roll funny for everybody." That they do...Yapp was the favorite going into the finals. The pool Gods smiled upon Carlo Biado this time. He got enough good rolls to open a bakery.

Not saying the amount of skill being shown wasn't fantastic. The know how of these guys, say the top 100 or so, is almost beyond human. Quickly learning the speed of the table, knowing just the right amount of spin and force to apply for cue ball placement after the shot...all of it combined. Just boggles this low skilled player's mind..

Amount of skill? Boggling minds? Go back to Sunday's Texas/Cleveland game. Check out this new rookie the Browns picked up in the last draft (Demetric Felton Jr., No. 25). Watch the moves he puts on a sea of Texan defenders and runs 33 yards for the touchdown. THAT is skill, my friend! And I'll just BET he can dance! :ROFLMAO:

I am having a hard time deciphering the words to this here song.
That's probably because much of it is "sea talk." Landlubbers have a hard time with that. Here's the lyrics. Fire it up and read along as he sings. It's a dedication song to the 26 seamen who died when a huge wave tore their freighter in half and they all drowned in Lake Superior. Helluva tragedy. Here's the words...

The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald --Gordon Lightfoot

The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they called Gitche Gumee
The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead
When the skies of November turn gloomy
With a load of iron ore twenty-six thousand tons more
Than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty
That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed
When the gales of November came early

The ship was the pride of the American side
Coming back from some mill in Wisconsin
As the big freighters go, it was bigger than most
With a crew and good captain well seasoned
Concluding some terms with a couple of steel firms
When they left fully loaded for Cleveland
And later that night when the ship's bell rang
Could it be the north wind they'd been feelin'?

The wind in the wires made a tattle-tale sound
And a wave broke over the railing
And every man knew, as the captain did too
T'was the witch of November come stealin'
The dawn came late and the breakfast had to wait
When the gales of November came slashin'
When afternoon came it was freezin' rain

In the face of a hurricane west wind
When suppertime came, the old cook came on deck sayin'
"Fellas, it's too rough to feed ya"
At seven PM, a main hatchway caved in, he said
"Fellas, it's been good to know ya"
The captain wired in he had water comin' in
And the good ship and crew was in peril
And later that night when his lights went outta sight
Came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald

Does any one know where the love of God goes
When the waves turn the minutes to hours?
The searchers all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay
If they'd put fifteen more miles behind her
They might have split up or they might have capsized
They may have broke deep and took water
And all that remains is the faces and the names
Of the wives and the sons and the daughters

Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings
In the rooms of her ice-water mansion
Old Michigan steams like a young man's dreams
The islands and bays are for sportsmen
And farther below Lake Ontario
Takes in what Lake Erie can send her
And the iron boats go as the mariners all know
With the gales of November remembered

In a musty old hall in Detroit they prayed
In the maritime sailors' cathedral
The church bell chimed 'til it rang twenty-nine times
For each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they called Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.
