Hello all of you great Bullitt owners. Here's the story. For nearly a half of year now I've been reading about all the different modifications all of you are putting into your Bullitts. Although these mods are terrific, I've decided that my car looks incredible in and out, sounds great, and is plenty fast for me right now. What I want to hear now is from all of you who haven't made any changes, and don't plan on it for a while. I feel a little lonely with this decision, and need support. Again, improvement in performance is a wonderful thing, but wow, I really love my Bullitt "as is" Please don't think this is an anti mod post, I just wonder if anyone else out there feels the same way I do. Thanks, and dry roads to everyone.

I have no mods, other than a K&N, but it is not because I don't want to, but because I can't afford it. I am hesitant however to do too many mods anyhow, because of warranty issues.

Somehow I doubt that this is what you were hoping for.

Hi there,
I'm keeping her bone stock. I didn't buy it for a race car, I needed a daily driver.
Also, I would probably suck at being a race car driver!
I've tried to keep my '69 stock also...I just have this THING about messing with a good thing!
I love reading about all the mods the guys are doing, and about all their race times, but 3062 will probably remain stock forever.

I agonized over the mod thing as well, but some of the 'appearance' mods are just to good (and easy!) to pass up. First on the list would be wheel spacers. Once you see a Mustang with rear wheel spacers, you'll see the difference and all others will look funny to you. Next would definitely be the MGW interior pieces. I choose the headlight & A/C switches and the e-brake handle. The quality, fit & finish of MGW products is simply outstanding and they definitely add to the Bullitt look without making the interior look busy. The last item I would add to appearance mods are foglights or a grill in the front bumper lower valence. The empty holes are hideous and need something. The concept Bullitt had a grill down there and that's probably best, but I live in a fog-prone area and opted for the GT foglights. As far as performance mods go, I personally find the Bullitt to be fast enough and won't be adding anything.

Bone stock except for the mod listed below
in my signature. (I doubt if this is really
considered a mod) No mods planned either, I
like FACTORY stock. That is one of the reasons
I bought the Bullitt, it is a FACTORY mod-
ified GT.

with Revell 1/25 scale 68 GT 390 Fastback and
68 Charger R/T metal body models. Unfortunately
the hub caps don't come off the Charger.

I'm 100% stock too. I'll probably put nicer interior/dash pieces in - the stock plastic is cheap. I've seen nice carbon fiber in a '00 GT with slate/grey interior. Very classy. The stock performance has me pleased. I'm considering a supercharger, but that's a few years down the road. Or maybe I'll just buy a Z06 or M5.

Bullitts ROCK!!

Well I didn't buy mine to be a drag car either, already have that. But there is nothing wrong with adding a few hidden mods, that only enhance the heart of the Bullitt, such as a 3.73 gear swap, and the O/R H-pipe,which could be swapped around anytime. That H-pipe really does wonders for the stock Bullitt mufflers and sound!! Other than that,I did add the Steeda Pulley set, which no one would notice right off. But thats where it stops.....No more mods...well maybe one more to get the factory scoop to force some extra air into the air box,I just like working scoops,no matter how little they add to performance. It's a 60s thing!

#353 is stock except for K&N air filter and valve stem caps. I don't consider filters mods because they eventually need replacement anyway. I still have the original valve stem caps, but they needed replacing. I'll keep the rest of the car stock. I love the way it drives.

I am keeping mine stock. The mods that I have seen has made little or no effect on the performance of the cars, mainly because the computer won`t allow it. Also changing the appearance of the car ruins the whole meaning of the car. This is just my oppinion. It is your car you do anything you like to it!
