Well mounted the Bf goodrich drag radials on the car man those tires hook. Did a burnout then dry hooped to check them. Loaded up around 5 grand then Kaboo. Freakin drivers side axle snaped. Boy I was hot. Had to get a repo tow truck to move the car once the axle breaks you cannot move the car or other things in the pumpkin will get messed up. Got home about 1 am jacked the car up completely took apart the rear end. What a mess. Woke up the next day really p*ssed off. Then my girlfriend was like what the hell happened to the Bullitt she saw how hot I was so she just left for work. Went to ford bought a axle had a good friend help me put every ting back in. Took the car for a test ride not only did I break one axle I bent the other one, and also cracked the caliper bracket. So the car will be down for a couple of weeks I refuse to drive it like this. Well if I want to run the car I have to roll with the punches but this was a KO. As a former Ford mechanic it cross my mind to bring it in under warranty but come on broken axle it would have been voided warranty for me. So I ordered 4.10 and a new axle this will help the rear those factory 3.27 just cannot transfer torque under a heavy load. Man what did I do to my poor Bullitt it only has 3500 miles.

Thanks for listening

Remember me saying I wouldn't come to Moroso unless I could trailer my car? And you thought I was crazy

Hope you get that straightened out soon. What did Ford hit you up for on an axle?

Have seen this before. A buddy ,up in Maryland, broke 2 axles,on seperate occasions, with a 98 GT,with bolt on mods,a 14.0 car at best running on Nitto DRs. That rear just isn't that strong in stock shape. The track must have been real sticky!

Ya Ray we are still on talking terms. I am so p*ssed about the situation. All I can do is wait for the gears and other parts to get here. The axles are cheap 118 to the public I bought them using my friends shop account so they were only 84 bucks. The caliper bracket was 54 bucks. The car should be done in the coming weeks.
