I was reading the post "MAD MAD MAD" and this came to mind.

About a month and half ago I was driving home with my wife, it was dark and we were making a turn in our beloved trailer park.
As I make the turn I see two kids (~10 or 11)in the street, so I slow down from 15 to almost stopped. They run and stand on the curb to get out of the way and I proceed down the road.

As I pass by them I hear a thump and see something hit the top of my windshield.
Well, f*** me runnin'!!
I pull the e-brake and jump out and the little SOB's take off. I'm ~ 2 steps behind when they run into their house. I bang on the door and yell for their parents.

One of them's mom comes, I explain what happened, and they deny it! I say: "Why in the hell would I bother to chase them down if they didn't do it."

Then they give a me a line of crap about speeding! I say I don't speed in the park because ther's always some little ghetto hood rat runnin in front of me!

Anyways, by now the shock has worn off my wife and she pulls up. ( She had yelled at me not to go after them).

The woman did finally say that she would pay for any damage, buit when she sees the car, she says I had to be speeding (Limit is ten, not legal just Trailer park bs, so I technically was). I say it doesn't matter, you should teach your kids better than that. She says: "What do you expect, you live in a trailer park?" I thought I was going to have to pull my wife off her dead body!! But, There was no damage so we left.

I tell ya what, if I had been those kids my parents would have beat the snot out of me withoust hearing my side of things.

I guess it shows where this world is headed...

P.S. It was a granola bar they threw.

Hey! Those kids violated one of the Bullitt
Commandments! Thou shall not throw ANYTHING
at a Bullitt! That includes granola bars!
I feel the same way you do...I think you
handled it quite well! I probably would have
passed out from anger!

Kids these days! I never would have dreamed of doing anything like that. I think you handled the situation admirably. A couple of months ago some kids were deliberately crashing their bikes in the street. Of course they had to crash right into our van (which has been banished to the street since acquiring the Bullitt) and left several bad scratch marks in it. Then they casually walked away as if they hadn't done a thing. A neighbor confronted them and got their Dad to survey the damage. Boy, was he mad! All I could think was how happy I was that it was our grocery mobile and not my beloved Bullitt.

Well, remember not to take it too far. My one cousin had a super-size mcdonald's cup full of rootbeer thrown at his 3 week old 2001 Infiniti QX4 (it was thrown out the window from opposing traffic). He pulled a quick U-turn, pulled up next to the 2 young drivers, quickly got out, and kicked the passenger window in. He punched the passenger (the one who threw the cup) in the face before the driver thought it would be best to proceed driving forward.

Oh jeez!! You are right, WHAT is this world coming too. My folks too, would have beat us before hearing our side of the story. Now, technically that isn't true, BUT they would have taken an adult's word seriously and come to us pretty darn quick making us tell what happened and if we lied, we'd better watch out...Daddy loved to "box ears"...heehee. Actually, my parents are wonderful and were with us growing up too..you would NEVER catch one of us doing that, we were raised right. Worst thing I can remember...well, two but I'll tell ya the worst of the two, is my sister and I getting in my brother's brand new Dune Buggy, trying to figure out how to make it go...well, my sister was sitting in the driver's seat and I'm fooling around in the back and I hit a button and she SHOT out of our carport SO FAST, around to the front yard and CRASHED into the front of our house, which was, uh....well, it was a solid wall of glass...shattered glass after she hit it! It's funny now, then...not so funny...

Anyway, I'm a 31 year old woman and I have to say...I'd have jumped from my car and chased them down myself!! You did the RIGHT thing, but I'd still have called the police and had them come out, those kids should have been taught a lesson...see what it feels like to sit in JAIL for a while.

My former husband and I had a bad experience also. We had just picked up a brand new Ford 4x4 (in 1990) and we drove up to see my sister at her work, a huge grocery store. Well, when we came back out, we saw some people getting out of a panel side, beat up POS station wagon near our truck. They were quite a distance away but my husband had said "I hope they didn't hit our truck". Well, long story short, we get to the truck and sure enough, there is a HUGE dent in the driver's door and a small chip of paint. My husband was fuming!! (this is my ex husband now) and he reaches in the OPEN passenger window of this crappy station wagon and tips over this HUGE pot of soup they had sitting on the front seat...it went everywhere! I pulled him away before he went ahead with step number two which was slashing all four of their tires!!! He got his revenge and the dent was pulled out...end of story! Uh, but he was a pretty darn violent man...so, good thing he wasn't in the mood to search them out in the store.

Anyway, glad your baby was not hurt...and, was the granola still in the wrapper? Might have made a good snack later on....ROFLMAO!

Good Day!
