Its not all that bad. If you consider the 15% drivetrain loss, you have about 277hp and 320ft-lbs of torque. That's a decent amount of torque. I'm sure that's the gain you have felt when driving and that's really what matters. These engines really develop the torque early on and that's what sets them apart from the GT. I have been thinking about why the cold air intake/MAF combo has not been delivering the HP we have expected and I came up with this; the long runner intake we have can take more air than the valves can let in. You can only get so much air in. If Ford used the GT camshaft, which wouldn't surprise me, than the profile is set up for the GT intake. I think we will have to change out the camshafts to really maximize the long runner intakes on our cars. Could someone who knows something about camshaft profiles verify this?
