There's been a lot of talk lately about the ever-painful dings, dents, and scratches now occuring on our beloved cars now that they've all passed their six month birthdays and life is starting to get to them. I feel sorry for all of you experiencing this as I have and am continuing to experience these annoyances on a regular basis, but I must say this.
Consider yourselves lucky. Ten DAYS after owning my car, it was vandalized and I forced myself to say, "Well, that's that. I'll repaint her someday." Since then, and even as recently as yesterday, 435 has run into a series of bad luck incidents. Rim scraped, splash guard cracked, highway rock dings, and even a nice "love tap" mark from a careless parallel parker on the rear bumper. I knew it was going to happen eventually, and it still pains me to see the new acquisitions, but I guess I didn't have the luxury of having an immaculate car for a number of months so I get over it quickly always telling myself that a repaint is in the future.
With 10,300 miles on her, weekly car washes, timely maintenance, and still parking at the back of the lots, I give her as much TLC as I can, but I've resigned myself to the fact that I can't stop everything. Well, I don't know where I was going with this, but I'll stop rambling.
In short, I love my car, scratches and all. No car is completely immaculate unless its never been driven, and what good is that?
