O.K. let's see if I got this straight, russian [pairs skating]duo fall twice, Canadian [pairs skating] duo perform flawlessly,however Russian pair win gold, Canadian pair win silver.Does this make sense to you?

Yeah, but even in hockey you can get screwed by the officials. It sucks when you not only have to beat the other team, but the officials too.

A patient of mine is seriously considering pulling his daughter out of figure skating and putting her in hockey. This is only one of many poor judging incidents in the past many years that he sees as ruining the - ahem - sport - of figureskating. The kids old enough to appreciate the implications of the decision are as p*ssed as their parents about the whole thing. At least the majority of us really know who the champions are!
