If any one is interested you can now order a new Marauder. I ordered mine on March the 7th. The specs list the engine as 4.6 with dual ohc and a cast block. The hp is rated at 302 and the trq is rated at 310. The only available options are a choice of interior color and an Alpine Audiophile Dual Media sound system. The initial scheduled date of production will be announced 4-10-02.Go to Mercury's web site and send for info and they will send you a cool poster of the Maurader at the dragstrip.

The wife thought the Marauder was a little too 'cop'. That's how I ended up with a black Bullitt.

What is it going to cost?

They told me the only options were an upgraded stereo, spoiler, and sunroof; no interior choices. Funny how things change from dealer to dealer, too bad they can't all get on the same page.

I am a Lincoln Mercury Dealer and there is only a choice of interior colors,either solid black or a black and grey two-tone.The only other option at this time is the Alpine upgrade as mentioned.The price has not yet been announced but is believed to be just under 30,000.I have already ordered 6 and we told the factory rep that we would take any other dealers unwanted allocation.

I have also heard speculation as to other colors being available at a later date and an upgrade to an x-100 performance package with the supercharged cobra motor.Mercury as you will remember was quite active in motorsports in the sixties,especially drag racing and they are currently trieing to refine their image that they now have to include a muscular image as a performance car builder.

Under 30,000? Wow! I had heard that it would be mid to lower 30's. That with my Z-plan discount is great. You won't be able to find a comparable car for that price. I may have to talk to my wife about her Expedition soon.

My wife wants one too! She bought a 2001 Toyota Camary,back in Feb.01,and now finds the color she got,looks like a million ther Camarys! You can lose it in a parking lot. She just wants something different.

I saw one at the Dallas car show on 03-03-02. It was roped off so you couldn't too close, but I'll bet thay are still washing off my drool on the front and back bumper areas. Ha! It was BEAUTIFUL!!
