Finally got round to replacing my stock air filter with a K&N one, my question is can the original be saved? Or it is only good for the bin?
Thanks

What can I clean it with?

Sorry if this is a bit of a 'numpty' question but I'm not very mechanically minded (as you may have guessed  )

Thanks
Pete

Unlike the K&N, the stock air filter is a non-cleanable paper filter. However, you could somewhat clean the filter with compressed air blown from the inside/out. This really does not clean the filter. What it does do is remove the larger particles on the outside.

Unless you have the desire to keep the stock filter for nostalgic or sentimental reasons you can trash it ;)

Don't bin it - I'll take it!

Unless you live in a very dusty area.........

Save it. You can use it when you clean and re-oil your K&N filter. After cleaning and oiling, let the K&N sit for a day or two for the oil to absorb and leach through the entire filter evenly. Don't over oil as that will mess up your MAF Sensor.

You can use the original during that time.

Just a suggestion.
