I finally got a picture of our two toys, side by side. The Jeep we won on eBay, drove to New York to pick it up, it's totally redone and SO nice! I named it Caliope (for the green). And of course, there is Bulletta!!

Yes, we won her on eBay last October, 2000. We are here in St. Louis and drove (left on Halloween night) just across the border to Manhattan to pick her up....1,100 miles, about 21 hours....straight through! It was fun to take the road trip.

Jealous?? Hmm, actually, we think Caliope is jealous because SHE used to be the center of attention....now Bulletta gets it.

I have not used the Absorber on Caliope yet, in fact, she has not been bathed in quite a while. My husband spent the last year doing mods on her, so she doesn't even have plates yet...she will tomorrow!

I like this picture of Caliope better. I took it the day we picked her up! When we got her home, we were not sure she'd fit in the 3rd bay of the garage...she does, with less than one INCH to spare.

It's the oddball '79, Karl. It's got the S&S 1200 hotrod jugs, S&S Carb, Fat Bob tanks and a Superglide front end. She will scoot!

Chalmers,

Well, we bid on her, but, she was getting SO many bids, we were afraid we might get outbid. So, I e-mailed the seller and offered him $9,000 cash IF he would end the auction early and sell to me. He thought it over and about 24 hours later, he took my offer. We have no doubt, she would have gone much higher, he had about $14,000 in her. However, he and his wife were in need of some CASH, so my offer was hard to pass up! I think we got a great deal, she's perfect inside and out. It's a 1979 CJ7. Our intentions were to get a big Jeep so our Dane could ride better....she can't even get up INTO it, we have to help her, it's pretty tall!

Also, when we went with the owner to take our rental back to the Newark, NJ airport, we drove right across from the Twin Towers...we had never seen them before...heck, we'd never been East of Missouri before together, so it was nice to have been able to see them. It was night and they were lit up and beautiful!

Those are small trucks compared to the truck I parked to a couple of days ago. I wish I had a camara. It was a full size Ford, and when I was parked next to it, the top of my hood on the BULLITT was just barely above the bottom frame of his truck. I could almost drive under the truck. I've never seen a truck so high, except for the monster trucks seen on TV. Nice pictures though showing off you babies.
