While testing the Bullitt last weekend I heard engine sounds looked up and saw these Mustangs followed closely by other high-performance rides. They made several passes and since the camera was already out I got some shots. Cool huh?

VERY Cool!

Mustang, F16, F15, and a Sabre (something I personally have never seen flying).

Good shots too!

Thanks B-Man. It's surprising how well this digital camera works. I live right next to the aircraft boneyard and Davis Monthan AFB and they were having an 'evolution of fighter aircraft' display and demonstration. Our house is pretty much surrounded by miles and miles of parked aircraft. The scrapping facility is just behind my back yard. It gets a little noisy sometimes but it is unique - I mean where else can you look out over your fence and watch a B-52 get chopped in half?

VERY KEWL  As a kid I watched Flying Tigers fly over and that is something I will NEVER forget. I love the older planes.

Nice shot.

Wouldn't that be an F-86 Super Sabre?

I believe that the Super Sabre is an F100, and has a smaller snout (and a more streamlined profile).

I'd look for a pic, but =it will have to wait until this evening.

Great shots no matter what it is!

Bullitt,

You are absolutely correct. The F100 SS is much more streamlined with the smaller snout. Thanks...

There are some benefits to living within a 30 minute drive of the Air Force Museum in Dayton.

They have a VERY nice F86 on display, in this Korean War diorama thing. Very cool.

Dude! I wanna live at your house!! I would just sit there and watch...I love aviation. If I were a little more physically competent (ie. vision) I would join the USAF in a heartbeat...be a B-1B Lancer pilot, an F-15 pilot, or a F-117 (Stealth) pilot. The little Cessna 172 will have to suffice.

Ahhhhhhhh!!! I hate hearing about a death of another B-52!!! A 50 year old aircraft design doesn't deserve a death like that. Especally cause they are still kicking butt all around the world. If you wanna reach out and destroy something just call us and we'll take care of it!!!
