Even though I do not (yet) have the piston slap noise, I decided to see what I could find on the net. Here is a PDF file from FORD (In Korea) that I found,

It is a presentation dated june 19-21, 2000. I put the file on my site encase they move it.
It goes into depth about what Piston Slap is. Thats great now fix it....

I then searched for key parts of this file hoping to turn up something a little later but no luck. Also searched on the authors no luck there either. Right click on the link and save it to your hard drive.

From what I read on the different sites that it is not good, (Dauuuuh) and will result in worn rings, cylinders, pistons and excessive oil use.

Thats the bad news. Only good news I could find was that Subaru and Nissan, (at least) are having similiar problems.

Nice slides on what is going on. Hopefully engine #2 for #227 does not start having any piston slap .

Thanks for the info and the link.
