Last night I finally got around to check the transmission mount bolts for tightness because I've been having some of that klunking sound. I found two bolts only slightly loose, but nothing to be worked up about. While under there though, I grabbed the driveshaft and was able to rotate it by hand about a 1/16th of an inch or so in both directions. Is it normal to have some play in the driveshaft? I'm sure that's what's causeing the clunking sound.

Perfectly normal. There is always going to be some play in the driveline. It comes partially from the rear splines of the 3650 trans and partially from the meshing/play between the pinion and ring gear of the rear axle. No problemo. If you had 1/2 of play, then, that would definately be a problem.

Thanks Paul. I know you said before the aluminum driveshaft got rid of the klunking in your Bullitt. That's a mod I have planned along with 3.73 gears.
