I JUST SIGNED UP AT THIS SITE THIS MORNING. JUST LETTING YOU ALL KNOW I HAVE EXPERIENCED SOME OF THE SAME BULLITT BLUNDERS AS THE REST OF YOU. BOUGHT IT IN JUNE, GOT IT TO 2700 MILES AND CRACKED THE CYLINDER HEAD. LOST MY BABY FOR 22 DAYS IN THE SHOP UNTIL A NEW ENGINE WAS PUT IN. NOT A PROBLEM UNTIL ABOUT 5500 MILES, THEN ABS LIGHT CAME ON. DEALER HOOKED IT TO THE COMPUTER AND SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. TOOK IT HOME. 3 DAYS LATER, ABS LIGHT BACK ON. LOST IT FOR 3 MORE DAYS AS THE FRONT SENSOR, MODULE AND SILINOID (SPELLCHECK) WERE REPLACED. JUST UNDER 6K MILES AND 6 MONTHS AND SHES BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR 25 DAYS. JUST AN UPDATE. ANYBODY OUT THERE LOOKING TO TURN THERES IN ON THE LEMON LAW?

In regards to the cracked cylinder head, the dealer told me that some of the first bullitt engine blocks were machined wrong, which caused some sort of temperature variation, thus cracking the head. That is the BS story he gave me. Not real sure if it is true or not. No problems since the new engine however.
In regards to the Diablo chip, it is programmed to run on 92 octane. 1 month after buying the chip, California stopped selling 92 octane. So I have to run 91 with an octane boost. It added a little power but not as much as I had hoped. Daiblo was the only company I could find making a chip for my car back in June when I bought it. Any thoughts on better chips?

I had a real light oil leak. A couple drops on the garage floor one morning. Besides the drops I didnt notice anything while I was driving. I tiook it to the dealer for a check hoping it was a leaking head gasket or something minor. Ended up in the shop for weeks.

Hi BULITNV,

227 had two blown head gaskets at about 4,700 miles. New Engine was put in. So far so good with the NEW one. It also has had the front end painted 4 times and that paint is starting to bubble! My car spent 2 months and one week in the shop so far. 1 week here, a couple weeks there 3 more weeks here. Oh yes and not once did I get a rental car. I got the paper work for the Lemon law, but it was going to take 45 days just to get reviewed. I had Ford go ahead and put an Engine in the car. We still have not fixed the NEW paint issues. Oh yes on top of the bubbling paint, the Dealership chipped both back corners of the hood and both fenders. Even brush touched the passenger side fender to try and hide it ;-(

Good luck with your Bullitt.

Bud

PS about 3,200 miles on the NEW engine and so far no oil leaks

Try Hypertech for performance upgrades. I live nearby and toured their facilities the other day. They already have a Power Programmer for the Bullitt. My friend's Z-28 was the test mule for '01 and he has nothing but great things to say about them.

Was the car continually leaking slowly? I started my car up a couple of days back and noticed a couple of drops of oil. I was going to go back and check today if there were any more drops of oil. Now it's got me concerned.

Hello fellow Bullitt owners,

I have had nothing but trouble with my Bullitt, and all of the dealerships have given me the run around. My car makes a rattling noise when it's cold, and it also makes several weird noises under the hood when you run it around 4-5000 rpm's. I am severely disappointed in my car and in ford. How did you guys get the papers on the Lemon Law, I also am contacting the Better Business Bureau....

please tell me your kidding about the abs light coming on then the cylinder head cracking i just took mine to the shop for the "death rattle" and they said they need to put a new engine in my death rattle starts at 3,000 rpms and never goes away plus i live in ca and its there even when its hot. Plus ive already taken it in for bad brake calipers. I had to get my brakes totally redone, plus ive had my rack and pinion steering replaced also are the rest of you having this many problems? I have about 8,000 miles on it and if they replace then engine it might be in the shop another 7-10 days its already been in the shop about 12 days im extremely dissapointed with all the problems im having with the car if i wanted a car that was in the shop 24-7 i would have got a camaro.

The CD DVD kicks butt. Makes the trip from Socal to Vegas seem like its around the corner. Its pretty costly though. To get the Panasonic 7" color LCD monitor and cd dvd set up it will run you about 2K after install. I would highly recomend if you or anyone else is interested, stay with the Panasonic set up. Better quality sound and picture than any Pioneer, Alpine, Eclipse or anything else out there. I've heard them all. Just my input.
