I asked him about the following issues.

1.Procedures to obtain the protection?
2.Is the plastic an adhesive or static cling?
3.Will we get two for the two holograms?
4.What will be done by Ford regarding
damaged holograms? (damaged ink)

I wish I could post the actual e-mail but
I don't know how to do that.
I am new to computers.

Looking forward to his reply!

BTW Mr. Hoag is the Bullitt Program Manager.
Mr. Art Hyde has sent me to him.

PY,

If you wanted to post the letter or e-mail, you could cut and paste it, do you know how to do that? Select it, Ctrl C to copy it, and Ctrl V to past it here...if you want to
Thanks for your help on this too!

I hate my computer!

This is the e-mail sent...the format is different here though...why?

Thanks Dona!

Dear Mr. Hoag,
My name is Collin Wayne and the proud owner of a
Dark Highland Green Bullitt, number 3875 to be exact.
Thank you for an incredible car! GOOD JOB!

I have been in touch with Mr.Hyde concerning the
Bullitt hologram protection issue. He has told me that
matters are finishing up regarding this issue and that
you have the information regarding the procedures for
obtaining the clear plastic protection. If I may ask,
what will those procedures be? Is the clear plastic an
adhesive or a static cling? Several Bullittclub members
(proud member myself) are also wondering what will
be done about some holograms that the black ink has
been damaged or come off. Will we receive two protectors
for both holograms? We are all very curious at Bullittclub.
Please let me know so that I can relay the information to
my fellow Bullittclub buddies.

Once again, thanks for an incredible Mustang!
I have had no problems with mine, both holograms are fine.
I am fortunate that mine is a second car for good weather
cruising only and sleeps in the garage with two sets of
pajamas on.(two covers on my Bullitt) I will keep this car
the rest of my life.

Sincerely,
Collin Wayne
Cincinnati, Ohio

P.S. If I had another 50K, I would have bought a true blue and
black Bullitt too! Not kidding!

Hi Fred, great to hear from you....and I do remember you from the 25th anniv. Let me try to address your questions, I appreciate your offer to keep your source confidential and would like to take you up on the offer.

1. The "dealer kit" that I was describing was not really a kit, but a method to get a damaged Bullitt ID label replaced by your dealer. This process is nearly complete, I hope to see a communication to our dealers soon

As you can see this has been something I have be in contact with TeamMustang for a while now, and waiting for a fix for months.
Actually from the second day I owned my Bullitt which was May 5th.

Thanks for update PY!!

Looks like it's up to the dealers whether they want to replace damaged stickers or not. Hopefully, my dealer agrees so I can have my damaged one in the engine bay replaced.

I am still waiting for his reply.

I will be patient...he is probably the
Mach 1 Program Manager now.

Maybe not with the 20,000 announced to lay
off at Ford...ouch!

KRS01,
It is under the backseat on the frame's
riser. You have to pop out the back seat
bench. The buttons to release (there are 2)
the bench are at the crotch position as if
you were sitting in the back seat on both
the left side and right side (one button per
side). Use a paint stir stick or ruler to
find the buttons...fingers are too fat.
You will be wedging the stick under the
leather seat cushion but on top of the
carpet...find the button with the stick and
find the FRONT of it and push aft. When
finding the buttons from the sides you will
run into two bolts that mount the button
from both sides...this is not the button!
the button is between the bolts. I pushed
on those bolts thinking it was the button
for about 30 min. Those bolts are only
about 1/4 of an inch either side of the
button! Good luck...hope this helps!
If you get the back bench out after reading
my crappy instructions (hell, maybe you
already know how to do this!) the hologram
will be on the driver side under the CARPET,
not the insulation in the floor tub. Pull
back the carpeting on the TOP of the riser.
BINGO!

GOOD LUCK!

Let me know how it works out!

ps I have Hot Wheels too...some from the late
'60s that I have had since I was a small boy!
Those are not in blister packs...wish they
were! Damn! What do you have?

Later,
Collin

Thanks for the info..I have mostly 95 and newer Hotwheels stuff, all either in blisterpacks or the package that they came in. I have several of the first 16 ever made but they are in pretty bad shape, played with a little too hard..Used to smash em with a hammer to watch em explode(if I only new what they would be worth,Dooohhh)

KRS 01,
I did the hammer thing too...why did we do
that? Testosterone? Fortunately seven
Hot Wheels survived...Paddy Wagon, Jack
Rabbit, 32 Ford Vicki, S'Cool Bus, Peeping
Bomb, Nitty Gritty Kitty and Special Edition
Mustang Boss. They are not in perfect shape
but displayable.

Did you find the second hologram?

Take care,
Collin

I'm not much into the "hotwheels" thing but I DO know this:

1) My brother (he's now 42) used to do the SAME thing, only he used a mallet!

2) My brother has ONE hotwheel type car left (in mint condition) that is worth several thousand dollars. It's like a bus with a surfboard sticking out the back....worth bookoo he says.

Dona, he has the VW Beach Bomb!
Very rare and very expensive!
BOOKOO BUCKS!
COOL!

BTW...I used fire crackers on my Hot Wheels
on occasion...turned them into tiny grenades! Could have put an eye out!

TwoStangWoman,
I know it sounds like alot of work but
it really is not. The second time I took the
seat out it only took 45 seconds.
The first time took longer but I did not
know what I was doing.

Karl, yes I did take pictures of the rear
hologram. They are developed and turned out
well. Bad news is I cannot scan it into
the computer...the computer says the scanner
is not hooked up. My computer geek friend
looked at it and he is baffled.

Oh yes, he also used to drop bricks off our second balcony deck onto the hotwheels in the driveway....cool affect when you do that!

Boys!!
