I attempted to install my MRT hood struts the other day. I was in the middle of
removing one of the nuts on the hinge connected to the hood, when it became
harder to unscrew. I gave it one more twist and the lower half of the bolt & nut BROKE off. :evil:

My question is this: are those bolts replaceable, or am I screwed? What's involved
in replacing them?

These struts are just sitting in my garage, and I'd really like to install them. I'm tired of the prop-rod.

hood is some kind of composite so my guess is it would be hard to replace, possibly you could use the one you have, drill out where the other one was and use a self tapping bolt on that one. would not hold as tight but with the one still in, you would probably be ok.

call a ford body shop at the stealership and talk to one of the body guys there and see what he says.

(by the way...I still have my stock hood )

Does your stock hood still have all 4 of those bolts/nuts? Is it in good shape?

(just want to have bases covered in case I have to get a new hood..)

Same thing happened to me when I was gonna take off my hood. I scrapped that idea and I'm now rollin w/ three good bolts.
