Hey I see you have replaced your head unit with a Pioneer and XM ( good choice BTW  )
my question is did you have to replace your speakers ? I used to sell/install car audio for Circuit City so I know more than the average guy probably does but still haven't gotten a straight answer on whether or not the factory speakers/amps will integrate with an aftermarket head unit ? AND what XM antenna (sp?) did you use ?? my roomate has it already installed on his car but his XM antenna mounts to the TOP of his car and I just can't bring myself to do it to #5467 he says there is a window mount but I have yet to see it  so which one did you use and do you have any pics?? Thanks alot ~

Well I had the premium sound system, not the Mach 460 and it works like a champ for me with the stock 4 speakers. The premium doesn't have any external amps so i didnt have to deal with that. I did however get a "ohh god" from the technicians that installed it because they thought they were going to have to replace the mach 460. Apparently it is a nasty radio to replace. Im not a radio installer but i dont see how they could wire in the amps or extra speakers without some sort of supporting connectors on the Pioneer head unit. It does however look good installed, and it works very well.

There was only one antenna available for the system when i had it installed last month. It has to be mounted to metal and it has to have direct line of sight with the satellite. I had the tech mount it on the trunk lid as close to the glass as possible because i did not want my car wearing that hat . He did a very good job as you can see from the picture. It is very unobtrusive and blends well with the car. The pioneer unit also comes with a handy remote control too as you can see in the picture. I recommend the system, but i find myself doing the same thing with 130 channels of radio as i do with 300 channels of tv...click click click click...haha

WOW! That does look ALOT better than I though it would.Almost factory even  I was worried about it tearing up the paint. My roommate has his on top of the ROOF and I think it looks GOD AWFUL ( maybe it's because his car is white so it stands out like a sore thumb, OR it could just be that it's a DODGE  ) but yours looks great (must be the color of the car  ) I have always been a big Pioneer fan myself ....just bought the girlfriend a Pioneer DEH-P4400 and I have a DEH-P8000 (HOPEFULLY I will be able to swap it out for the NEW 9300 model tomorrow  ) just waiting to migrate into the Bullitt from my old bronco
I'm still trying to find out if it will work with the factory amps or not ~ the 460 is usually set up on a common ground system which is why it's such a pain in the Arse. You almost always have to run new wire to each speaker and since the factory's are an off impedance (like 6 ohms I think) you can't use the factory speakers either. oh well I eventually want to put in all new stuff anyway just waiting on my wallett to recover  ~ and BTW thanks for the awesome pics !!

Your tech must've run a ground wire to the body or chassis, because when I installed my CB antenna, I found out the trunk lid is composite plastic instead of metal.

yes, i think as recently as 1999 it was just the hood that was composite but now they've begun making the trunks out of that composite material too!
then the front and rear "fascias" are composite, as are the C-pillars, etc, etc, etc
