When some of us get a pay raise,it is always followed up with a medical insurance premium increase.
So do employees of power companies complain, when after a pay hike, they get hit with an electric bill rate hike?
One of our maintenance techs just quit, and went to work for our area power company, and we were kidding him about this type of deal!

Interesting thoughts. I have been working in the same shop for the last five years without a pay raise. We've had a few locality adjustments, but no raise. Our "benefits package" that we have to pay portions of have gone up over 35% in the same period. Net effect to my takehome pay has been equally negative. Plus the cost of power, gas, water, trash collection, homeowners insurance and taxes on the house have increased from 5-40%. Life, you've gotta love it! I never thought about the guy that works for the phone, electric or whatever company/municipality and their pay raise. Kinda makes me feel like a hamster on a treadmill...
