I've heard that the computers on the stock SN95 are set to retard timing when you shift. All fine and dandy but yesterday, I left TC on and I dashed off in a frenzy. Well, I scratched 2nd and it scratched hard, before the TC kick in. Then, with a quick 3500 shift to 3rd, I scratched 3rd gear too! Weird.

When TC is off, 2nd gear doesn't chirp as loud or hard. And God knows the only thing that makes a noise when I shift into 3rd gear without powershifting is the belt squeaking!

So could it possibly be that when the TC is off, the automatic shifting retarding system is activated but when TC is left on, it is turned off because the TC would do its job?

Interesting question. I'm trying to remember if I've chirped 3rd with TC on or off-if only she wasn't in storage, I'd go test it out right now
