I'm sort of new to the mustang world...I'm excited as now I'm a part of it. I've seen in magazines and other places that they remove the air silencer. What is the air silencer, where is it located, and what are the benefits/losses of removing it?? Thanks guys/and a few gals!! =o)

No, the air silencer is that tube that extends from the air box into the fender well.

some people say there are good r4esults in removing but truth be told, now your confusing the ATS..(air temp sensor) in the air tube and giving it incorrect readings. for some it might not be a big problem but if you keep getting erratic readings then you might consider putting it back.....
