I know we all look forward to the day we have to replace our Bullitt's tires. Well, maybe not looking forward to it that much, but.... I have owned a number of Sports cas and Muscle cars over the years and tried a lot of different brands to see how they reacted on the car. I an not quite ready to replace the OEM BF Goodrich 235/50/18's that came on my Bullitt, but am looking to the future (1-2 years down the road).
BF Goodrich, Dunlop, Michelin & Pirelli are on my short list. Since the Bullitt is a more or less daily driver (for now), I will put a good Summer All Season higher mileage tire (300 - 400 tread wear rating good for 20 to 25K miles depending on my driving habits). For some reason I always liked the Dunlop GT Qualifiers back in the 70's and 80's.
Also, I will upgrade the tire size to 255/45/18's to keep the Rolling Diameter the same as the OEM 235/50/18's on the Bullitt now. The RD in now 27.1, so I can stay in the 27.0" to 27.2" RD with the brands mentioned above. (see my response on the "Winter Tire" thread).
So, what are your opinions, 2 cents, etc.... on your choice of tire brand and size for your Bullitt's tire replacement?
