Got on track for the first time this year with the local S550 club last week. $95 for 3- 30 minute sessions on a Thursday afternoon at my "home track" MSR Houston.

High temperature was 53 degrees which made traction limited. My new Re71r's had enough grip to pull out corner speeds that were more than what I was getting on warmer pavement with my 500tw all seasons.

Had a blast messing around with my buddies 2007 gt500 super snake, 2014 5.0, and 2013 focus st.

Also had a white 50th anniversary edition come to a complete stop on the front straight after being black flagged, scary.

A good day! Question? Did you have a chance to compare twisties performance with the S550's? Curious about your impression of the difference between independent suspension vs. our stick rear end...

So obviously the driver has a bunch to do with it. I am about 50-60% on my passes on s550's in the past few years.

Comparing vs drivers with more experiencing than me, they are seeing almost the exact same corner speeds as me, maybe 2-3mph more in the corners and 10-15+ mph faster on the straights.

I am running around 1:55 clockwise at this course, my friend in a boss302ls is running around 1:53, gt500 supersnake around 1:54, my buddy with a 2017 5.0 is running around 1:48, all have around 10-20k in mods to their cars and are running wider tires than me.

I am impressed with what the stock 01 Bullitt can do, she never embarrasses me despite being old, slow, and obsolete :wink2:
