Karl - I have read conflicting reports - earlier all the mags said covered side scoops for 02 v-6 - then no side scoops - they're staying with the Bullitt - lately on all reviews of the 02 Stang - v-6 to have covered scoops. I have seen a couple of 02 v-6 up close and as far as I remember all had normal scoops - but I don't know if this is an option - only time will tell. I wouldn't be suprised though.

The 2002 LX V6's will continue to use the same side scoops that were launched in 1999. They will not receive the "Bullitt Style" side scoops.

Every 2002 V6 we've received this year has the old style V6 side scoops. Only our Bullitts had the Bullitt scoops. The '02 V6's were also going to get a Cobra-style hood and you should have heard the Cobra guys going nuts about that. But, that never came to pass, either.

If you want a picture of the '02 V6 with the Bullitt side scoops and the Cobra hood, look no further than the 2002 Focus/Mustang/ZX2 brochure that Ford published with the World Trade Center on the front cover! It's in the Mustang section and is a black coupe. If you look closely you can see the optional Cobra R wing on the decklid that did make it to production (just kidding, Vicki!).

I'm glad that it didn't happen. I remember seeing a brouchure that showed the 02 V6 with the Bullitt scoops and the Cobra hood. In the same book they had a pic of the 01 V6. I was confused and worried. After they said our cars were unique, I thought Ford was going to let us down again.

BTW Bill and I will bring the R to Bellevue this summer for the big show there in July. I may follow him in the Bullitt, am not sure yet.
