Anyone have any info comparing the different SCs out there? Want info on Paxton, Vortech and Saleen.

Saleen Series II is currently $2753.99 at Haney Motorsports.

Same as Jay, I love the Vortech.
IMHO:
1. Vortech
2. Paxton
3. Saleen
4. Any others approach with some caution.

I'm interested to hear why you like ATI? I still haven't figured out what they are trying to accomplish with and air/air intercooler? How warm can the intake air be coming from the inner fenderwell (Vortech) to the intake? The intake air charge probably gets hotter going from ATI's intercooler all the way to the intake from the bottom of the radiator where it is mounted. On a streetable s/c with 8 to 10 pounds of boost that intercooler would provide more intake restriction than anything. And I think all their kits are designed to be used with their intercooler so you have to run it. Just some info I gathered while doing my s/c research and not just reading all the advertising hype.

Jay,
The heat isn't generated by the inlet tube, it comes from the blower itself. So what ATI does is rate thier kits with the intercooler, so without one they would probably make a couple more #s boost. And the drop in intake temp would probably be 60-70* vs. an ATI non-intercooled app.

The following is speculation, it could be that the head units on the ATIs are less efficient than Vortech and Paxton necessitating the use of a intercooler.

Also remember that as boost increases intake temps rise. For example on an S-trim at 6#s the intake temp should be around 90*+ambient temp. Compare that to 10#s of boost where is would be around 141*+ambient. So if you could cool a 10# charge with an intercooler by 60-70* then you would be below the temps for a 6# app, and still see around 8#s of boost. And that's a good thing.

BTW, if this makes no sense I appologize. I am sick today and not on top of things.
