Hi everybody,
I just got a 2008 DHG Bullitt this weekend! I am loving it so far. I live in Plano, TX (Dallas area). My Bullitt number is 3987. However, the dealer did not have the user manual (though he is ordering me a new one). I was wondering how to turn on and off the active anti-theft system as my bullitt as that option.
Thanks,
Josh

Are you talking about the optional security system or engine immobilizer? The factory option alarm is diabled by the remote by unlocking the door to turn off and set by locking. It will also work by locking and unlocking with the key in the drivers door it will also set when you hit the lock button on the door. The pats key or the immobilizer system works by using the coded keys, if you get another key copy that isn't trained to the system that is the system didn't learn it code the door and ignition will unlock but the engine won't start.

Ahh..i was talking about the optional alarm. So then it is automatically armed when I lock the car- convenient. So, what sets it off and if it is set off, how do I turn it off.
Thanks,
Josh

It has a proximity alarm as well as a motion detector: sensors inside the car detect any movement (beyond that which you would associate with a moderate wind or passing heavy traffic, say) and the alarm will go off for 30 seconds...If no other movement is detected, it switches back into standby-mode, so you don't have to go and physically turn the damn thing off...
If someone tries to jemmy the windows open it goes off - if you set the locks with the windows open, anyone reaching into the car, even if they don't touch the car-body itself, will also trigger the alarm...

Mine also has the optional "Self-Destruct" feature.

You see, living in close proximity of the border with Mexico, I opted to have this nifty feature. It works like this:

An auto thief jacks my Bullitt and jumps onto I-10 heading down to the Mexican border. The SD mode does not activate until the built in GPS coordinates for anywhere south of the U.S. border are detected, then... <a href="http://s382.photobucket.com/albums/oo267/Bullitt145/Humor/?action=view&current=mushroom-cloud.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo267/Bullitt145/Humor/mushroom-cloud.jpg" border="0" alt="Kaboom!"></a>

I may lose the Bullitt, but have the deep satisfaction of knowing the thief is confetti!

If you dont want to listem to it for 30 seconds hit unlock on the remote or unlock door with the key should shut it off. If you want to try out the system lock the door with the window open and give the car a minute to arm the system. Reach into the car and oped the door with the inside handle and it will go off then try the remote or key in door lock to shut it off. I allways tried this to check the function and my ability to shut it off!

Is there a red security light that flashes when the system is armed? If so, where exactly is it located? (My car is parked for the winter - with the battery disconnected - so can't check it out now)

I'm still awaiting word from the U.S. Patent Office regarding my "Guillotine Window" invention.

Very simple, actually, an unauthorized person reaches through the open window, the alarm system detects the intrusion and...

Well, the cleanup afterwards is a small price to pay for the satisfaction of knowing the scum-bag will have to learn to wipe with the other hand. :D

That's okay for the house, but what about in town? I normally have Mr. Glock riding with me, so that audible alarm may come in handy when I'm away from the Bullitt. If it goes off, all I have to do is send Mr. Glock and his 6-8 friends over to recover the vehicle. Better than a Trunk Monkey, but admittedly more of a hassle sometimes.
