I'm getting ready to install an after market shifter. How come I never hear anything about the Hurst shifters from you guys? What shifter do most people go with?
Thanks for your help. dhg 4406

Most people go for the Steeda Tri-Ax, followed by the Pro-5. I have the Steeda.

Because only Steeda and Pro-5.0 make a shifter for the TR 3650 tranny. I have tried both in my Bullitt and like the Pro-5.0 better. Go with the MGW handle.

Hurst does make a shifter for the 3650 trans. I was thinking of getting one myself, but decided on the Steeda shifter after driving a Bullitt with one installed. But I'm sure the Hurst will be fine too, had one in my 87 GT.

Hurst does make a Billet/Plus Shifter for the Tremec 3650.

The part number is: 391 5035.

I called Summit Racing and they are going to add it to their product offering when it is available which should be sometime March 2002.

I really like the Hurst and have always had a Hurst shifter. I had one in my 1969 GTO and 1996 Cobra and never missed a 2-3 shift in over 250+ dragstrip passes (in the Cobra).

I like Pro 5.0 as well. I think any of them are good (B&M, Steeda, etc.) but it just comes down to your preference. I have tried Steeda and Pro 5.0 in friends cars but still like the Hurst the best.
Go to the Mr. Gasket webpage and download the new catalog.
