Ok A silly question since this a new century of car for me. All of my past cars used to burp when you opened the gas cap having run the tank down.

I noticed even using 3/4 of a tank... I don't get the rush of air into the tank?

Is this normal?
Thanks

I don't get the "burp" either.

On my previous car, the tank would hiss, but not on my Bullitt. There must be some sort of special relief valve or something...

I don't know if this has anything to do with the tank making noises when opening the tank. I seen to remember, my oweners manual saying, if you don't have the fuel tank cap on correctly, you can get a check engine light. I also noticed that the cap isn't like the ones on earlier cars. I would have to look again to be certain.

Sense most cars today use an electric fuel pump, that "burb" you hear is the vacum seal releasing when the gas cap is removed. Our cars may very well have a vacum relief valve in the cap.
