I have my 3.73s and install kit sitting on the workbench. Can't wait to get them installed. However, I am not as brave as you are to attempt it myself. A guy over at stangnet put me onto a local shop(Mustang Services and Performance)that will do the install for $150. He said his install was perfect and has had absolutely no problems. I plan on visiting them after the holidays and checking them out before having the work done there. So if you had to do it all over again would you still do 3.73s or opt for 4.10s?

No the 3.73s are perfect, for how I will use the Bullitt. Now for the ultimate strip car, sure the 4.10 would be the way,I had them way back in my 85 LX,when equipped with the T-5 and 302,which was running 12.6s at 109. If you have the tools and the time,it's not that bad a deal changing the gears, although I was a bit sore from working underneath the car....just middle age woes!!

MUS408, I hear you on the middle age part. When I take on a project I pay for it in lower back for days. Kinda makes you think twice about doing it yourself. I hate having other people work on my cars but on the gear install I think I am going pay to have somebody do it.

www.corral.net has a good calculator.

Go to technical features
Then Tech Calculators
Then Gear Ration Calculator

Plug in the info and it will tell you speed RPM's. It's a really good calculator.

My brother had 4.10s in his 90 lx, I hated driving it the shifts we ruff. H took them out and has instaled 3.55 and is happy with them. I am ordering a set of 3.73 for #02321 though and cant wait to get back to drive her.

Va.Bullitt,I was just there Weds-Friday! We were staying at Powhatan Plantation.I take a drive down that way,on Rt.5 every so often,Bullitt likes that. Hey,why did the folks down there let them cut up RT 5,with that new Rt.5000.....got a little confusing!

My 3.73s are being installed tomorrow by Mustang Services and Performance in Marietta, GA. $150 for the install using my parts and fluid. Can't wait. The reburn on my chip to correct the speedo is going to have to wait a month.
