Ford has a SSM/special Service Message 15158:

Some 96-02 GTs may exhibit a fead(?) belt jump-toss.For vehicles equipped with a long housing water pump(96 thru Dec 00 built date)--replace existing pulley with a flanged pulley part number F6ZZ-8509-AA. For vehicles with short water pump housing--replace existing water pump with long water pump housing YW7ZZ-8501-AA and flanged pulley F6ZZ-8509-AA.

I noted that some people over at stangnet.com have been losing their accessory drive belt when they go thur puddles and when driving in heavy rain. This SSM should fix that problem.

I ahve no idea if this has anything to do with it, but has there been any problems with people who have added the underdrive pulleys

lost the belts on both my 01 gts ... got them fixxed and no prob since then ... the flanged pulley does not look real good but it works .. at least a i am not a afraid to drive through an inch of water now ...

I had mine on order, parts are in but do to the ice and snow here, I will take "Mb4875" when the weather is decent. I followed up on Dennis post. Also second set of headlights.

Well "MB 4875" new water pump and pulley has been installed. Plus two new headlight assy. I am ready to Zanio and drive to Pensacola for the MCA National 22 March.
