Ford has a SSM/special Service Message 15158:

Some 96-02 GTs may exhibit a fead(?) belt jump-toss.For vehicles equipped with a long housing water pump(96 thru Dec 00 built date)--replace existing pulley with a flanged pulley part number F6ZZ-8509-AA. For vehicles with short water pump housing--replace existing water pump with long water pump housing YW7ZZ-8501-AA and flanged pulley F6ZZ-8509-AA.

I noted that some people over at stangnet.com have been losing their accessory drive belt when they go thur puddles and when driving in heavy rain. This SSM should fix that problem.

Thank you, phoneman91 for pointing this one out. We Bullitts are all in the replacement zone for this one. We'll see who loses their belt first.

You're post is truly appreciated! Good to hear from you.
