Well hell YES! I could tell right away, the engine had more response.Drove it over to my buddy's house,to do some Hemi tuning, had it on the freeway and it feels real good. A good swap for the money. Wonder why Ford didn't put these on? Hmmmmmm...maybe those 3.73 gears might work better after all!

I was wondering for all of you guys that have made this mod, how much did the steeda pullies cost? Also, where did you get them, and did you install them yourselves..or did someone else do it? I have been pondering whether or not I should make this switch or not..is it really worth it?

This is a mod I've considered and researched on this site...and have discounted. I don't doubt the performance increase, and bang for the buck, but either way you look at it (replacing all the pullies or just the crank pully) you're going to reduce the alternator and water pump pully speeds by 25% each. I just don't want that kind of risk, especially in the HOT Tucson summers. All the water flowing I can possibly get is fine with me. Food for thought.

OK, class, here is the scoop! You can reuse the stock belt, IF you use the water pump pulley supplied with the kit, AND the supplied crank/dampener pulley. The Steeda alternator pulley looks to be the exact diameter as the Bullitt piece, so I used the stock Bullitt piece. You could just go with the smaller crank pulley, but would need a shorter belt. Now, I admit it was 73 degrees when I was cruising the highway on the test run, but I didn't see any difference in temperature. Don't know how accurate/sensitive the factory temperature gauge is though. I think the cooling/charging system on our cars is much improved over the old 5.0 Stangs. If you go with a lower, 3.55-3.73 gear, you will be spinning it up faster anyway. Oh and I got them from Steeda, on special for $159.00!!
