See the BULLITT Archives for the low down and instructions on this
but I have posted some pics to show some small changes to suit me.

Now this is NOT a kick in the butt mod but rather a very subtle mod that sets the
gear shifter back slighty. I like the effect and I can move my seat back just a tad.
I think that vibration and noise is very slighty reduced as well.

My secret weapon is the addition of a piece of mountain bike inner tube !

Cut two pices of steel about 40 by 40 m/m square
Hold next to shifter and mark holes in one with a Sharpie pen.
Centre punch and drill a small pilot hole for the 2 holes in just one plate
Next hold next to other plate and secure in vice.
Spot thtrough and drill second plate in 2 places.
Open up both holes in both plates to just 7,5 m/m - then test fit next to shifter.
When happy open up to 8 m/m M8 clearence hole.

Next, back to car and secure plates and offer up shifter handle, then mark again.
Back to workbench and drill next set of 2 holes.
Back to car and test again as I wanted a real snug fit, not a baggy loose fit.

When happy with plates and fit, dress both plates and de-burr all holes and edges
Next, spray prime both plates grey
Leave for an hour and spray True Blue in my case and leave over night.

Next morning fit and test drive.

Inner tube cuts vibration but also takes up some of the difference in the width of the Steeda shifter handle and the Steeda boss with the tapped holes in it..

The steel I used is 2 m/m. The whole thing is a real nice snug fit with no movement or flexing at all.
I felt that 3 m/m thick or an 1/8 inch was not needed and too thick but your choice.

Hope this helps
