I'm also runnig at 15* with no problem. I also ran for about a week at 17* with no problem. At 17* the engine seemed louder and rougher so I backed off to 15* for everyday driving and would advance to 17* at the track.

You really need to get the car on a dyno to optimize your timing adjustments. Seat-of-the-pants feel can be pretty misleading when timing is concerned....lots and lots of 4.6 owners have discovered that the setting that felt best to them was not producing the most horsepower when the dyno sheets were examined. This is probably the rule, not the exception.
That said, I installed mine at 13 degrees (huge difference over the stock setting), then bumped it up to 15. After a week or so I moved it back to 13. It ran fine on both settings but I really didn't notice any difference between 13 and 15. I need to get my car on a dyno, too, before I do any further adjustments.

No, but I kibbitzed through the install. The main reason I didn't do it myself is lack of an air gun. I guess it can be accomplished without one, but I wouldn't want to do it. That bottom pulley bolt is on there to stay and isn't interested in coming loose. Steeda provides excellent instructions with plenty of photos, and it would really be hard to screw it up as long as you follow carefully what they tell you.
I should add that we did the pullies and timing adjuster at the same time....I would highly recommend doing the same so as to not double a lot of your labor.
