Well I went to Ford World Headquarters Meet members from Team Mustang. WHAT GREAT GUYS You would not believe how nice the ford group was to me. I didn't register and they got me into the special bullitt parking, free food, got to cruise with them and meet most of the bullitt staff that created our cars. I am not only impressed with my car I'm impressed with them. They said to thank us bullitt owners of buying there creation. I said NO THANK YOU FOR MAKING SUCH A GREAT CAR FOR US IT'S US WHO NEED TO THANK YOU.

Boy Jim, you got back home fast! It took me about an hour to drive back to Livonia. Although I did drive north on Woodward to 13 mile (bumper to bumper traffic from 10 Mile on).
I especially liked the hot run of all the Bullitts from Ford WHQ to Ferndale. Folks, there were at least 21 Bullitts at this event.

Cool pics, especially the "sample" sticker.

Here's a question: My engine bay is still clean enough that I can't imagine it looking as dirty as the one in the second picture. BUT, I know it will one day. Is there a preventative or low maintenance way to keep it looking good so I don't have to dive into it with a toothbrush and diaper to get all the crap out of it a year or more from now? Concerns about water in ignition components and etc seem obvious to me, but are there any not so obvious problems with specific solvents or water being sprayed under the hood?

Thanks!

Yea Greg of course I went south to Canada HAHAHA the trafic my way was smooth. Joe remember this is one of the first Bullitts a test car (gets alot of use) 2 of the cars there had computer setups to record and tweak and adjust all parameters. its from this that we got our cars program. Also I can only speak for myself Joe but I go to the power carwash and use the soap wand and wax rinse on my engine bay every couple of months and never had a problem. I loved the burnouts from FWH everone stopped at the stop sign and really let it go. Everyone should have seen the long line of bullitts burnning and turning. It was great

JJrocks, it was nice meeting you as well as the other Bullitt owners. I hope you enjoy the posters .

Here are some more pictures with my camera - very similar to yours. There were two dozen Bullitts there today!. Oh and I think I unofficially won the Bullitt Burnout Contest too!

18 other pictures and a video walking down Bullitt row are at:

We talked about the Bullitt program and how the development came together. there were so many people and cars I didn't even mention the plates. But they are aware the stickers are fading. It was a great day.

Thanks JJ that's a start that they know what's going on. The more I see the pics the more I want to cry for not going!!!! I'll have at least 5 weeks vacation next year and I'll schedule for it. As soon as the date is set I'll write it down!! Brian, is that your sticker that says "sample"?

Hey JJ - For those of us who recently got our Bullitts and are learning our way around the scene, so to speak, how did you find out about this cruise? An event like this might get me interested in driving up from Maryland to attend.

Every year in Detroit there is the Woodward Ave. dream cruise. Team mustang had planned the Friday event to go with the Saturday dream cruise. I found out about the Team mustang event here with links to Stangnet. In the stangnet forums there is news events news www.stangnet.com

That's a good question. What WILL happen to the Bullitt sample cars? Now THAT is a car I'd put in a bubble!

Thanks JJ. I must admit that, while I have been on stangnet and BON several times, I haven't had the time to digest all of the information available on those sites, but I'm working on it

Well if that's true it's a shame. I always wondered what happened to the pre-production cars, test mules, show cars and concept vehicles once they've been used. It just seems to be a terrible waste of money and resources if they're just scrapped. If Ford can build these cars for test purposes and then turn around and sell them to the public later.. why wouldn't they?
If they do sell them someplace where do I put my downpayment for the Fourty-nine?

Man, how sad! I hope someone with enough $$ and the right kind of contacts is able to sequester a couple away, and we do hear about one found in a barn in 20 years! You'd think that tere'd be no problem in selling those cars to the right kind of buyer (not the general public), and the right kind of buyer would probably happily pay a premium.
